🌟 Working Therapeutically with Children in Mission – Training Day 🌟
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people? Want to develop practical therapeutic play skills to help create safety, trust, and real connection? Join us for an inspiring in-person training day designed for those working with children in mission contexts.
🗓 Date: Saturday 21st February 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm

This interactive training includes theory teaching, group discussions, and hands-on creative exercises. You’ll explore:

✔️ Child-led play as a therapeutic tool
✔️ Safe and meaningful connection with children and young people.

Those with some previous experience working with children who want to grow in therapeutic practice.

Even on holiday, the mission never clocks off.
For Lucas, currently on a time of rest from YWAM Liverpool, this journey through Portugal became a living reminder that mission is not a role or a season — it is a lifestyle rooted in communion, love, and obedience. As Scripture says, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

These days were marked not only by discovering Portugal, but by deep fellowship — sharing life with friends from Canada, Denmark, Colombia, Brazil and Portugal, resting together, laughing together, and seeing how beautifully God weaves His family across nations.

A particularly meaningful moment was visiting YWAM Lisbon, where Lucas was warmly welcomed into a community full of love, humility and faith. Time was spent sharing what God has been doing in England, but also listening closely, learning, and being deeply impacted by their testimony. Their journey, especially stepping into a new place God has provided as their home, reflects the truth of “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy” (Psalm 126:3). May God continue to bless YWAM Lisbon abundantly and expand all that He is building in Portugal.

The time spent at the Hillsong Lisbon Youth Service was also incredibly special — a powerful expression of worship, unity and the next generation pursuing God with passion. Truly a reminder that “His kingdom cannot be shaken” (Hebrews 12:28).

Even in rest, God was at work — through conversations, friendships, shared meals, worship, and simple moments of togetherness. Because mission is not something we switch on and off; it is who we are.

🌍💛 At YWAM Liverpool, we believe that mission is about building relationships and reflecting God’s love in practical ways.

This week, I, Lucas, had the opportunity to finish the cleaning project we started near my local church — and it turned into something far more meaningful than I expected.

As we worked, I got to listen to stories, share about Jesus, and spend quality time with him. We even had lunch together, and I shared a bit of Brazilian culture through food — he really enjoyed it! 🇧🇷✨

When the cleaning was done, we ended with a prayer. And then he said something I’ll never forget:

“I’ll never forget this.”

That moment reminded me why we do what we do — not just to clean houses, but to touch hearts. 🕊️

I think I’ve made a new friend to grab coffee with and spend some good time together — isn’t that amazing? ☕💬

🌍💛 At YWAM Liverpool, mission is not just about preaching — it’s about restoring body, mind, and spirit.

Today, one of our missionaries served near his local church, helping clean the home of someone struggling with hoarding. 🧹

As YWAMers, we care not only about mental health but also about restoring Kingdom values — and one of them is cleanliness and order.

Extreme clutter isn’t just uncomfortable — it can bring real health risks:
• Accidents from tripping or blocked exits 🧺
• Fire hazards caused by piled or flammable items 🔥
• Mold, bacteria, and pests that lead to infections and breathing issues 🦠
• Emotional struggles like guilt, anxiety, and depression 🧠

These facts remind us that what may seem like “just cleaning” is truly an act of compassion, dignity, and restoration.

🕊️ Where love serves, hearts and homes are renewed.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10
“Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean.” — Isaiah 1:16
“Let us cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles body and spirit.” — 2 Corinthians 7:1

Today was just the first day — the work isn’t finished yet, but we’ll share the results soon! ✨

Let’s keep being the Church — not only inside the walls, but in every corner where hope is needed.

Every Wednesday afternoon, YWAM Liverpool partners with The Salvation Army to serve the Ministry — a safe after-school space for children. 🌟
It’s full of games, films, laughter and friendship — a warm place where kids can simply be kids in the heart of Liverpool.

This ministry keeps growing beautifully, with children even asking to stay longer because they love it so much. 💛 The heart behind it is simple: when they’re with us, they’re not on the streets or in vulnerable situations. They’re seen, cared for and free to enjoy their time.

Grateful for this partnership — and excited for what’s ahead. 🙌

✨ In the heart of Liverpool, YWAM serves at Hope Café, a welcoming space where refugees can find community, friendship and support. Every week we share coffee, fruit, fresh pastries, English conversation, language classes, practical health services, and a donation area with clothes, shoes and household items lovingly given.

The project is an initiative of Christ Church, led by Preeti, and we are grateful to come alongside and collaborate in this mission of love and hospitality.



It’s more than a café – it’s a safe place to rest, connect and feel at home. 💛

Our full-time staff Lucas, Steffy and Luana have the privilege of collaborating with this project, serving alongside a wonderful team of volunteers to make each moment special.
