💙 Today marks the start of Learning Disability Awareness Week, shining a light on what life is like for those with a learning disability, while celebrating the achievements and valuable contributions they bring to our communities every day.

We're proud to provide opportunities that support inclusion, confidence and independence all year round and to champion our inspiring participants.

💙 Since establishing our Disability programme in 2000, we've remained committed to creating accessible opportunities that empower people to thrive both on and off the pitch.

🧶🫶 A fantastic day at Liverpool Women's University Hospital for our ‘Sit and Knit’ participants, who attended a Little Woollens celebration event.

Their handmade crochet items have helped contribute to an amazing total of £26,000 raised for life-saving NICU equipment. 👏

Families in the NICU and Maternity Ward have also been supported by EitC’s Starting Well programme, which provided New Dads Support Boxes during those important early days. 💙

⚽✨300 children from local schools took part in a She Inspires mass engagement event at LCFA Sefton, enjoying a host of fun activities including football, darts, martial arts and DJing.

With modules such as leadership, life skills and confidence, the She Inspires programme is designed to help young women and girls to reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch.

Funded by Merseyside Police and delivered by Everton in the Community, LFC Foundation and Liverpool County Football Association, She Inspires is making a real difference across the Liverpool City Region.

💙 Pack a Dads’ Box with us to give to new fathers at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

Developed by Everton in the Community’s Starting Well team and funded by Liverpool City Council Family Hubs, these free boxes are designed to support new dads in those early days of fatherhood.

Each box is filled with practical items to help dads bond with their baby and feel more confident in their new role, alongside a booklet with guidance on fatherhood and where to access further support.

A huge thank you to Liverpool City Council Family Hubs for funding the project, National Literacy Trust for providing books, and Koala North West for donating toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Together, we’ve already supported more than 160 new fathers. 💙

When the sun’s out and there’s no football, we play cricket. 😅

A brilliant day at Formby Cricket Club for SEND pupils from local schools. 💙🏏

Delivered by Everton in the Community’s team, the young people took part in batting, bowling and fielding sessions before putting their new skills into practice through a series of activities and matches.

Everton in the Community is proud to launch Versus Cancer – an innovative programme providing vital physical, emotional and wellbeing support for people living with cancer across the Liverpool City Region. 💙

Developed by the EFL in the Community, Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance and local NHS Trusts, the initiative will be delivered from our Goodison Campus, offering free prehabilitation and rehabilitation for adults aged 18 and over in a non-clinical setting.

Each weekly session will combine exercise, social interaction and wellbeing support, helping participants get into the best possible condition before treatment, aid their recovery afterwards and build meaningful connections with others facing similar experiences.

Versus Cancer stands as a powerful reminder that facing cancer is not only a physical challenge but an emotional one too. 💙
