A few examples of our messages of COURAGE from Refugee Week 🧡

During Refugee Week we held mini workshops during the drop ins with our clients and volunteers asking 'What does courage mean to you?' The groups wrote their messages, examples or definitions of courage on orange hearts. We ended refugee week with 60+ messages of courage, which we will display at many of our events across the year🧡

We're so lucky to have been donated a car! 🚙
Massive thanks to Margaret, our founder, for kindly donating her car to SHARe for the staff team to use for taking items to our activities and events, and for organising delivery of furniture donations. This will be a major help in the running of the charity, enabling us to better help our clients.
Thank you so much Margaret ❤️

Eid al-Adha Mubarak!
Wishing everyone a blessed and happy time✨💛

Eid is celebrated twice a year by the Muslim community, earlier in the year it is celebrated for Eid al-Fitr, and in summer time is celebrated for Eid al-Adha. Eid is celebrated with prayer, shared food and time with family and friends, across three days referred to as Tashreeq days.

This week we held our annual Safeguarding training session, to refresh our staff and volunteers with SHARe's safeguarding procedure. We also had a lunch together beforehand, getting some lovely relaxed time before an important topic.

Happy St George's Day!

St George is the patron saint of England, Venice, Genoa, Portugal, Ethiopia, and Catalonia. St George was born in Cappodocia, which is modern day Turkey.

St George is known for riding into Silene (modern day Libya) to free the city from a dragon who had a taste for humans, the story symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.
In 1940 King George VI created a new award for acts of the greatest heroism or courage in circumstance of extreme danger. The George Cross, named after the king, bears the image of St George vanquishing the dragon.
The image of St George also adorns many of the memorials built to honour those killed during World War One.
