Yes there were winners last night!! All those ladies who attended SI Liverpool’s Women’s Wellness Event!!
What an informative, interactive and interesting evening!! You’re never too old to learn about your pelvic health -all the things your mother and grandmother never shared!! Many thanks to Kate Walsh, Consultant Pelvic Physiotherapist from Liverpool Women’s Hospital. And a very important , informative session on Osteoporosis, its diagnosis and treatment from Vicky Glaze who is a specialist doctorate student and physiotherapist in osteoporosis, particularly in women.
We are the Champions !!!( of women’s wellness!!)

Huge congratulations to IPP Pat Perkins and her programme team for being recognised at International level for their excellent initiative to raise awareness about women’s heart health. The project has been successfully replicated by other clubs in the region and also repeated by our club for the deaf community. Well done to Pat and all the team!

A great day at the Mossley Hill festival showcasing the work of the Liverpool Soroptimists and a good opportunity to engage with the public especially in our Club’s Centenary year. We had a good spot inside Mossley Hill church where we had the pleasure of being entertained all day with the various acts performing. We also had the opportunity to meet BBC North West reporter and journalist Maraid Smith who was there to judge the dog show and happy to listen to what we do and promote our Club.
Many visitors to our table were happy for us to contact them after the event so hopefully we may gain more Club members for the future.

A QUIZ WITH A DIFFERENCE
The evening started with a welcome by President Dorothy and she stated that the money raised tonight will go towards our Centenary project.
Everyone took the quiz serious from the beginning with each team choosing an appropriate name. Quiz mistress Anne, ably assisted by her grandson Jack, was as challenging as usual, but with teasing clues too, putting everyone into the competitive mood.
It was an entertaining evening! Thanks Anne for all planning and challenging questions. Pictured is Sharon and her winning team, with Ann M and her team who came second! Dorcas Publicity Officer

Congratulations to President Pat and members of SI Liverpool as we celebrated our 99th Charter lunch on Sunday, with Regional President Sue Underwood. Many thanks too, to our daughter clubs whose Presidents and members shared in our celebration! Also thanks to our guest speaker, Dr Clare Appleby from Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital, who gave a rallying call for more women to go for heart specialism. Statistics show that women thrive better when seen by a female cardiologist!!!

A wonderful day spent at the magnificent Liverpool Central Library
showcasing our Soroptibooks project at the Liverpool Year of Reading event, tying in nicely with the National Day of Education.
This project started during the Covid years when Education PAC group collected donated books to distribute to children's organisations and charities who needed them, to date the number of books has reached well over 1000 and still we collect and deliver. Our Lord Mayor has even helped us with our book stock. Visitors to our table at the event were attracted by our reading survey suitable for both adults and children and were happy to
engage in conversation about what reading means to them. It was great to be part of this event and listen to music, poetry, book readings and meet local authors and other literary organisations.
