Torus tenant and women-only fitness sessions with a qualified instructor 4 days a week. The £5.2 million Toxteth Fire Fit Hub, which is being built by Wates Construction, will see a state-of-the-art fire station as well as a youth and community hub and a major sporting facility built. The sporting facilities will include new football pitches, martial arts studio, dance studio and a new gym that wi

ll introduce the “train like a firefighter” concept. It is being built on the corner of Windsor and Upper Warwick Street in the heart of Toxteth. Funding for the new Toxteth Fire Fit Hub was secured through the £2.3 million Department for Education myplace initiative with an additional £2.8 million funding from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service and £500,000 from Liverpool City Council. Weight of structural steel used for the frame - 156 tonnes, equal to the average weight of 13 Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service fire engines. Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service and Liverpool City Council are working with local community representatives and organizations as the Hub takes shape. There has been significant input from not only the Toxteth Fire Fit Hub Ambassadors but also the Rialto Neighbourhood Centre, Toxteth Tigers, Kingsley United and volunteer Paddy Logan. Construction began in November 2011 and by the end of February 2012 had seen 2,061 beams and 6,943 bolts assembled to complete the steel frame for the two-storey sports centre and fire station.

As summer time comes to an end and the colder months are approaching we look back on our summer memories with smiles on our face👏🏽☀️

We took a trip to Delemere Forest playing outdoor games and even battled a few wasps whilst we were at it 🤣

We climbed walls bigger than us at the Climbing Hanger 💪🏼

Took a trip to Eureka and tackled obstacles, this was a big challenge!

We then rested in the sun sharing our summer memories.

🔥WE LOVE FRIDAYS AT FIRE FIT🔥

Our young people have been busy this evening and getting up to LOADS of different activities!

Juniors brought the energy and we started the evening off with drama games, bracelets making and football in the sun ☀️

Seniors kept it chill in the Chill Zone, on the Karaoke 🎤 playing pool, table tennis, video games and hanging out. Our young people worked up a sweat in the gym 💪🏻 and levelled up their football skills outside with Coach Manny!

In the Sports Hall we had with their open basketball sessions for young members of the public- check out their page for more info 🏀

🔥Thursdays at Fire Fit 🔥

We've had a BLAST tonight!

Juniors got to play dodgeball, did art, karaoke, dancing and even got to play football with

Seniors were able to have a session with Everton AND Coach Manny, work up a sweat in the gym, play some basketball and kick back and relax in our Chill Zone!

We also had with their U12s team training too, it's great to see the team working hard 💪🏻
