Liverpool Social Care Partnership at the Better Security Better Care Autumn Away Day – London

Liverpool Social Care Partnership (LSCP) was pleased to participate in the Digital Care Hub’s Better Security Better Care Autumn Away Day in London on 13 October 2026.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues, share experiences, reflect on programme progress and discuss ways to strengthen data security and digital confidence across the adult social care sector.

As a local support organisation, LSCP remains committed to helping care providers understand and meet their Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) requirements through practical guidance, training and free one-to-one support.

We look forward to building on the knowledge, collaboration and shared commitment gained from the event to continue supporting safer, more secure and digitally confident care services.

DSPT Version 9 is Now Live

The 2026–27 Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) Version 9 is now live.

Care providers should review their existing DSPT submission, update any information that has changed, and republish their submission by 30 June 2027.

Even where information has been carried forward from a previous submission, it is important to check that it accurately reflects your current staff, systems, suppliers, policies and data security arrangements.

Ormskirk Social Care Job Fair – Another Success Story

Last Friday, 25 September 2026, the Liverpool Social Care Partnership hosted the Ormskirk Social Care Job Fair at Ormskirk Civic Hall.

We were delighted to welcome eight care organisations from across the North West, who came together to showcase career opportunities and connect with enthusiastic job seekers looking to build or progress their careers in social care.

New guidance: Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA)

The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA) is now fully in force, bringing updates to UK data protection law that affect adult social care providers.

While the Act doesn't replace UK GDPR or the Data Protection Act 2018, it introduces some important changes that organisations should be aware of, including a new right for individuals to complain directly to your organisation, updates to Subject Access Requests (SARs), and changes relating to AI and recognised legitimate interests.

To help providers understand what has changed, Liverpool Social Care Partnership has produced a practical guide explaining the new legislation in plain English.

The guide includes:

•An overview of the key changes.
•What they mean for adult social care providers.
•A simple compliance checklist.
•Links to official guidance and legislation.
•If you've recently completed your DSPT, now is a great time to review your policies and ensure they reflect the latest requirements.
