We are incredibly proud to officially announce that Primal Mentality CIC – Reel Healing are now Proud Sponsors of the England Ladies Carp Team. 🇬🇧🎣

This partnership is about so much more than fishing.

It represents our shared passion for inspiring the next generation, breaking down barriers, championing women in angling, and using fishing as a powerful tool to improve wellbeing, confidence and resilience.

Over the past weekend, we watched our own young angler Amelia Rose spend time learning from some of the country's finest anglers, before going on to win Biggest Fish at the England Ladies fundraising social. Moments like these show what's possible when young people are surrounded by positive role models.

At Primal Mentality CIC, our mission has always been to create opportunities through angling. Partnering with the England Ladies Carp Team allows us to inspire even more children and young people to believe in themselves, develop lifelong skills, and discover just how much fishing can change lives.

🎣 Get Fishing Sessions – The Perfect Place to Start! 🎣

Our Get Fishing sessions are designed for children who are new to angling or want to build confidence and learn the basics in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

From setting up a rod and tying knots to safely handling fish, casting, and water safety, our qualified coaches guide every young angler step by step. Along the way, they can work towards their Get Fishing Awards, celebrating their progress and achievements.

It’s about so much more than catching fish—it’s about building confidence, making new friends, spending time outdoors, and creating memories that last a lifetime. 💚

All equipment is provided, so there’s no need to own any fishing gear—just come along and give it a try!

A massive congratulations to one of our young anglers on landing this incredible 16lb sturgeon during one of our Reel Healing sessions at Mill Dam Park! 🐟💚

Watching his journey has been amazing. He has come such a long way since joining our sessions, and the time, effort, and dedication he puts into learning and improving his fishing is really paying off. He always listens, asks questions, and is eager to develop his skills—and moments like this are the reward.

This is exactly what our sessions are all about: building confidence, learning new skills, and creating unforgettable memories.

🎣 Another brilliant day on the bank with our young anglers! 🎣

Yesterday’s carp session was packed with action, smiles, and plenty of fish on the bank! 🐟👏

It’s amazing to see the confidence and skills of these young anglers growing every week. From learning how to safely handle fish to landing some fantastic carp, every session is another step forward.

Fishing is about so much more than catching fish—it’s about patience, teamwork, respect for nature, building confidence, and making lifelong memories.

What an incredible weekend for one of our own! 💚🎣

Amelia had the amazing opportunity to fish alongside the England Women’s Carp Team at their first fundraising social, and to top it all off, she won Biggest Fish of the Event! 🏆🐟

We’re so proud of everything she’s achieving. Seeing her passion and confidence grow reminds us why we do what we do.

Hopefully Amelia’s journey inspires the young people attending our Reel Healing sessions to dream big. With the right support and opportunities, who knows where fishing could take them too?

🎣☀️ What an amazing day at Mill Dam Park! ☀️🎣

Today we delivered 2 fantastic Half Term Reel Healing Angling sessions at Mill Dam Park, proudly funded by One Knowsley 💙

It was incredible to see so many young people enjoying the outdoors, learning new fishing skills, building confidence, making friends, and having fun in nature 🏞️🎣

Across both sessions the young anglers:

✅ Learned basic fishing skills
✅ Took part in fun fishing games
✅ Caught some brilliant fish 🐟
✅ Learned about fish care & water safety
✅ Spent time outdoors away from screens
✅ Built confidence, teamwork and social connections

Seeing the smiles, excitement and support between the children is exactly what Reel Healing is all about ❤️

🎣 Volunteer Opportunities with Primal Mentality CIC

Join the Reel Healing Family 🎣

We’re currently looking for passionate male and female volunteers across Merseyside to help support children, young people, and adults through our Reel Healing angling and outdoor wellbeing programmes.

At Primal Mentality CIC, we use fishing, nature, and outdoor experiences to help people improve confidence, reduce isolation, support mental wellbeing, and build positive connections.

This is more than just volunteering on the bank — it’s about becoming part of a supportive community that genuinely wants to make a difference.

Whether it’s helping young people catch their first fish, supporting someone struggling with anxiety, or simply being there for a chat and a brew outdoors, your time could have a huge impact.

We’re looking for people who are:

🎣 Friendly and approachable
🎣 Patient and supportive
🎣 Passionate about fishing and the outdoors
🎣 Good with people from all walks of life
🎣 Reliable, positive, and community minded

No coaching experience is needed. We can provide guidance, training opportunities, and support to help you grow within the role.
