South Liverpool Foodbank Providing emergency food and practical support for local people left without enough money to live on. Do not post things that:

South Liverpool Foodbank is a community-based charity that provides emergency food and practical support for local people left without enough money to live on. Part of Trussell's food bank community, we have eight food banks across South Liverpool. We work alongside local support agencies, such as Citizens Advice, who identify people who don't have enough money to buy essentials and issue them with a food bank voucher. The voucher can be exchanged for a parcel of three days’ nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food at one of our centres. Our social media channels are for anyone who believes in our vision of ending the need for food banks in the UK, including our supporters, people with lived experience of hardship, their families and our volunteers. We’d love you to share stories, experiences and comments, and join us in the fight to end hunger in the UK. To ensure our social media channels remain an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment, please follow our rules. Are derogatory, offensive, unlawful or abusive to others.
2. Reveal any personal, sensitive or confidential information.
3. Are spam (posts containing the same message posted multiple times).
4. Contain allegations and defamatory or insulting comments about named individuals or organisations.
5. Advertise products or services for profit, gain or that are not associated with South Liverpool Foodbank. We have a zero tolerance approach to discrimination, abuse and hate speech of all forms on our channels – such content will be reported to the platform and users will be blocked from our channels. We reserve the right to hide, remove and report any posts that do not adhere to our guidelines or those that we think are potentially inappropriate or offensive. If you live in Liverpool, you could support new research by the University of Liverpool around local access to fresh food, health and wellbeing!

🍲 What will you have to do?
If eligible, you'll be asked to download a free app and complete 3 questionnaires and 9 food diaries across 6 months.

🎁 What's in it for you?
As well as being part of this important research around health and wellbeing, you'll receive reimbursement for your time with Love2Shop vouchers.

🏠 Great! Can I take part?
If you rent your home from Torus, you may be eligible. Some residents from Onward and Riverside housing associations are also taking part.

📢 | A small team that delivers big benefits for residents!

Our Financial Inclusion Team - formerly known as the Benefits Maximisation Service - supports residents experiencing financial hardship and plays a vital role in helping people access the financial assistance, advice, and advocacy they need.

In the last three years, they have managed 15,261 referrals and delivered £28.5 million in additional income for residents through benefits support, welfare assistance, and specialist casework.

The team’s success has been underpinned by significant investment from the council as part of our commitment to tackling poverty, reducing inequalities and supporting residents through the cost-of-living challenges facing the city. This investment has enabled the service to expand its reach, develop specialist expertise and provide earlier intervention, ensuring more residents can access the support they need before reaching crisis point.

We're delighted that they have now received national recognition at the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Awards, winning Welfare Team of the Year award and being Highly Commended in the Excellence in Social Inclusion category.

❄️ What Can £5 Do? ❄️

A food parcel can provide vital support when a family is facing a difficult time. However, having access to good food is about more than simply having enough to eat.

Fresh fruit and vegetables can help bring nutrition, choice and dignity to emergency food support - helping families access healthier options at a time when households budgets may make these difficult to afford.

Through the Winter Boost Project, your donations help community-based emergency food providers across Liverpool purchase fresh produce locally to include in the food parcels they provide over the Winter months.

Just £5 can help provide one family with a food parcel boosted with fresh fruit and vegetables.

Every donation, whatever the amount, contributes to our work with emergency food providers across Liverpool this Winter.

We offer our visitors a chance to speak about their money problems with Connor an advisor from Citizens Advice, who can help them claim social security payments or with debts.
