We don't want to create another podcast where people simply sit and listen.

In collaboration with North and South Education CIC we're building a 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 - a collection of subjects, issues, experiences and ideas suggested by people in our communities.

If there's something you're passionate about, something you've experienced, or something you think people need to hear - 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀!

And if you're passionate about a topic, you can 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 and help lead that conversation.

You don't need to be an expert. You just need to care about the subject and be willing to talk about it.

Our conversations will contribute to a 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲 - honest, raw and real accounts of life as people experience it. The podcast is simply one way we can capture and share those voices.

🍃💚 Wednesday Water Wombles Round-Up 💚🍃

Another fantastic Wednesday out on the canal, with our wonderful Water Wombles rolling up their sleeves to help keep our community looking its best! 💪🌍

This week, we collected 7 bin bags of litter, along with a discarded chair and even a plastic bath! 🗑️🪑🛁 While it was disappointing to see both the canal and towpath so heavily littered, we did our best to restore the area and leave it looking clean, bright and welcoming once again.

We were especially delighted to have a young Womble join us this week, enthusiastically tackling the towpath alongside the team. It's so encouraging to see younger members of our community getting involved in our eco mission and helping to fly the flag for a litter free future. Every little pair of hands makes a big difference! 🌱💚

As always, nature rewarded our efforts. We were lucky enough to see our favourite family of swans again, and we couldn't believe how much the cygnets have grown in just the last fortnight! 🦢✨ It's been such a privilege to watch this beautiful family thrive and to witness the cygnets growing up along our stretch of the canal.

A huge thank you to Crt Rob Langdon from the Canal & River Trust and everyone who joined us this week. Together we're making a real difference not just for our community, but for the wildlife that calls the canal home.

The Canal & River Trust are looking for Eco Survey Volunteers in Sefton. You’ll get hands‑on experience with ecological surveys, learn species identification, and support one‑off public survey events all while helping protect the waterways that run through our neighbourhoods.
