Everton de Viña del Mar proved they have the stomach for a fight this Sunday, coming from behind to dismantle Cobresal 3-1. In a high-stakes Round 11 clash, the Ruleteros showed clinical efficiency to climb to ninth in the Primera División and put much-needed daylight between themselves and the drop zone.
The match ignited early, but it was the visitors who silenced the Sausalito crowd first. After just 12 minutes, Steffan Pino found the net for the Miners, leaving the home side with a mountain to climb.
However, this Everton side didn’t blink. Finding their rhythm quickly, the response was immediate and relentless:
• The Equalizer (21’): The pressure finally told when Nicolás Baeza pounced, leveling the scoring after a period of sustained Everton dominance.
• The Turnaround (33’): With the wind in their sails, the Ruleteros turned the game on its head. Cristian Palacios showed his class, finishing a well-worked move to make it 2-1 and sending the home fans into raptures before the break.
Cobresal emerged for the second half desperate to find a way back, but they found the Everton backline resolute. The Ruleteros managed the tempo expertly, frustrating the "Miners" and waiting for the moment to strike the killer blow.
That moment arrived in the 78th minute. Alan Medina found the finishing touch to make it 3-1, effectively ending the contest and ensuring the points stayed in Viña del Mar.
This wasn't just a win; it was a statement of intent. By showing the character to turn a deficit into a comfortable victory, Everton moves into the mid-table pack with some serious breathing room. While the alarm bells are ringing for a struggling Cobresal, the Ruleteros can look upward with confidence as they continue to climb the table.
Player of the Match: Nicolás Baeza (For sparking the comeback when it mattered most).
Next Up: Everton will look to carry this momentum forward and keep the pressure on the top eight.

Everton de Viña del Mar remains hungry for more after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Universidad de Chile at Sausalito on Saturday night. While the visitors arrived with the "favorite" tag, Walter Ribonetto’s men proved they were more than a match for Gago’s side, neutralizing their attack and coming inches away from securing all three points.
The defining moment of the first half—and perhaps the match—came in the 43rd minute. Braian Martínez was clattered by goalkeeper Gabriel Castellón in the box. A clear penalty and a second yellow card for the keeper seemed certain, which would have left La U with ten men and a backup goalie.
However, in a move that frustrated the Sausalito faithful, VAR intervened to find a marginal offside in the buildup. It was a massive letdown for the Ruleteros, as the decision spared the visitors a certain goal. Our keeper, Ignacio "Nacho" González, was once again a wall. His 5 key saves kept the sheet clean and provided the security the defense needed to handle the pressure.
In the second half, Ribonetto looked to the bench for a hero, bringing on Cristian Palacios. The "Chorri" nearly wrote the perfect headline against his former club, finding the back of the net and sending the home crowd into a frenzy. Sadly, the linesman’s flag cut the celebrations short for offside, leaving the Gold and Blue fans wondering what might have been. Despite the frustration of the disallowed goals and the overturned penalty, Everton showed great tactical discipline. The defensive line—Vidal, Magallanes, Oyarzún, and Baeza—was immense, effectively shutting down Gago's expensive frontline and forcing them into "total insignificance" by the final whistle We take the point and move to 9 points in the table. While we sit in 14th, the performance today showed we can go toe-to-toe with the top of the league. Next up: we stay at the Sausalito to take on Cobresal.

Saturday night saw Everton de Viña del Mar Everton travel to face Deportes La Serena. It was a match defined by a difficult first half, largely due to how well Deportes La Serena defended and how compact they remained. A "wonder goal" tipped the scales against us, and we never found the equalizer to get back into the contest.
Within the first 20 minutes, Jeisson Vargas stunned us with a brilliant direct free kick—a goal from another planet. Following that, Everton finished the first half without a single shot on target and without convincing the fans.
In the second half, Everton fought hard and tried to level the score through long balls and solid link-up play; however, the team was never able to pull even. Santiago Londoño came very close to scoring with two clear chances. Overall, there is much to be desired and plenty of room for improvement.
This defeat leaves a very bitter taste in our mouths. Given the second-half push, perhaps we didn't deserve to lose, but it is difficult to recover after such a pathetic showing in the first half.

Saturday night saw the Everton de Viña del Mar defense stands tall in a gritty 0-0 draw against Ñublense, moving the Oro y Cielo out the relegation zone.
It wasn't the goal-fest we wanted, but it’s a point that counts! Most importantly, the result ensures we stay out of the relegation zone as we head into a massive month of football.
If there was any doubt about our number one, Ignacio González silenced it today. "Nacho" was in inspired form, pulling off a string of world-class saves to keep the clean sheet intact. Across the pitch, Nicola Pérez was doing the same for the visitors, but it was González’s leadership at the back that gave the home fans heart.
The stadium held its breath in the 83rd minute when Franco Rami thought he’d snatched it for the visitors. But the football gods (and the VAR) were wearing Blue and Gold! Piero Maza correctly ruled out the goal for offside, sparking a roar of relief from the Evertonian faithful. We rode our luck, but we earned it with our effort.
While the final whistle was met with some frustration, the big picture is clear: we are moving in the right direction. We fought for every ball and proved we can go toe-to-toe with the teams at the top of the table. With 8 points on the board, we have the breathing room we need to climb even higher.
Everton currently sits in 13th place, staying safe and sound above the bottom two. The "Coto" Ribera’s Ñublense might be 4th, but they couldn't break us down!
Next Up:
* April 11: A massive trip to face La Serena. Let’s take this momentum on the road!
* April 18: We return home for the big one against U. de Chile.
The fight is on, and we’re staying up! ¡Vamos Everton!

Everton de Viña del Mar suffered a frustrating 2-1 defeat at home to O’Higgins on Thursday night, in a match where the Ruleteros dominated the play but failed to find the clinical edge needed to secure the points.
Despite wave after wave of Everton attacks, O’Higgins goalkeeper Omar Carabalí put in a "Man of the Match" performance, single-handedly keeping the visitors in the game. The hosts were left shell-shocked just before the break when Francisco González snatched a lead for the visitors against the run of play in first-half stoppage time (45’+1').
Alan Medina finally gave the Sausalito crowd something to cheer about in the 58th minute, drawing Everton level with a well-taken goal. It looked like the momentum had shifted, but the visitors proved lethal on the break. In the 76th minute, Juan Leiva finished off a counter-attack to restore O'Higgins' lead and ultimately steal all three points.
The result sees Everton slip to second in Group C with 3 points, trailing O’Higgins (4) but still ahead of Limache (2) and Palestino (1).
The Verdict: A night of "what ifs" for Walter Ribonetto’s side. The dominance was there, but the finishing wasn't. Everton will look to bounce back and find their clinical touch before the next round of fixtures.
