We are one of 238 RNLI lifeboat stations around the coast of the UK and Ireland. Our volunteer crew are on call 24/7, ready to save lives at sea.

The lifeboat station, and this page, is operated entirely by volunteers. Our volunteer crew cover the West Sussex coast between Bognor Regis and Worthing. Our page is an open and welcoming community of RNLI supporters and volunteers all coming together to help save lives at sea and we want to hear from you about your experiences. As a charity funded by your generosity, we welcome your feedback and are always happy to discuss any aspects of our lifesaving work. However, to ensure our page remains a safe and welcoming space for everyone, we reserve the right to remove comments eg those that are offensive or abusive towards others. SHOUT! Our volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard at 10.50am yesterday (2 October) to check on the welfare of an injured person aboard a fishing vessel nine nautical miles from Littlehampton.

Our crew transferred the casualty to our Renee Sherman lifeboat and took them to Littlehampton Harbour and a waiting ambulance.

Our volunteer crew were delighted to meet crew from TowerRNLI yesterday.

They passed through Littlehampton on their epic cycle challenge from the RNLI HQ in Poole, Dorset, back to Tower RNLI Lifeboat Station, in central London.

Tower RNLI is the RNLI's busiest lifeboat station. They're taking on the challenge to honour the 540 lives they've helped save.

There’s just a week to go until our Fish Friday 2026!

Join us at our lifeboat station on Friday 2 October from 5pm for fish & chips, cakes, a bar, live music and a raffle.

All proceeds will help our volunteer crew save lives at sea in our local waters.

Please join us in congratulating Cian, who has recently passed out as a Launch Vehicle Driver!

This means that Cian is now qualified to drive our lifeboat station’s two tractors on shouts and training exercises.

Manoeuvring a tractor and trailer in a high pressure situation takes a lot of skill and practice - congratulations Cian, and thank you for your hard work and dedication 💪🎉

Two weeks to go until Littlehampton RNLI Fish Friday 2026!

Come to our lifeboat station on Friday 2 October for fish & chips, cakes, a bar, live music and a raffle. It’s a chippy tea to save lives at sea!

The fun starts at 5pm. You don’t need a ticket — just turn up on the day. See you there!

SHOUT! Just 30 minutes after our lifeboat station’s debut on Saving Lives at Sea on Tuesday evening, our volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard to check on the welfare of two sailors aboard a vessel with engine problems.

Our crew launched our Spirit of Fidelity lifeboat and headed to the vessel, which was one mile south of Littlehampton Harbour. One of our crew boarded the vessel, providing casualty care and restarting the engine.

Our Renee Sherman lifeboat was launched and escorted the vessel to Littlehampton Harbour and a waiting ambulance. Both our lifeboats were recovered by 1am.
