Little Paxton Village Hall

Little Paxton Village Hall Reg Charity No 270549
The Village Hall was built in 1975 to cater to the needs of the Little Paxton c A second kitchen services the meeting room.

Our village hall is the perfect venue for small groups and clubs, as well as being ideal for family parties and wedding receptions. The main hall has a wooden floor, a bar (serviced by a local public house) and its own well-equipped kitchen. Please note that hirers must be at least 18 years of age and in attendance at the function for which they have booked.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW BAR SUPERVISOR!
Your Committee is delighted to announce that, with immediate effect, our new Bar Supervisor is Ben Harris, licensee of the Three Horseshoes at Graveley.

The Three horseshoes has a superb reputation for friendly service and excellent food and we’re confident Ben and his Team will provide an outstanding service at Little Paxton Village Hall, if your event needs a bar!

If you’re the kind person (that’s genuine not sarcasm) who kindly moves the Village Hall wheelie bin from The Rookery to the front of the Village Hall, please don’t as we have a system in place to deal with the bins.

Thank you so much for your kind thought in trying to help us though.

A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbett Social Value Fund

In November 2025 the volunteer Trustees’ of YOUR Little Paxton Village Hall were successful in their bid to secure £39,441.25 from the above-named Fund, for the purpose of installing 42 x solar panels and an 11KW inverter and 5 x 3.4kWh batteries at the building.

The system was installed by a team from local firm R&D Energy, led by Rob Hazzard and their service was superb!!!! We would highly recommend R&D to anyone considering the installation of such a system.

We had excellent support through the funding application from Indre Parker at the A428 National Highways Office at St. Neots and we were very grateful to her and her Team.

The system is projected to generate 13, 908 kWh per year and even in late January, early February we were exporting excess power to the National Grid. This will mean we will be able to ensure our users of another year of use of the building, with no increase in the hourly rental fees!

Also, we expect to save 2,880 kg of CO2 per annum, which equates to the same pay back as if we planted 132 trees!

Finally, I’d like to thank your Team of Volunteer Trustees of the Charity which takes care of YOUR Village Hall:-

Allan Ord, Bridie MacFarlaine, Graham Mulchinock, Jean Matheson and Richard Tomlinson for their support through the whole process.

If you’d like to become a Trustee to help our fun-loving Team, please email [email protected].

Shortly Graham our Treasurer, who has been with us for 6 years, will stand down and David Smith will replace him. We thank Graham for his service and welcome David to the Team.

Little Paxton Village Hall Charity needs YOU!

For my sins I’m Chairman of the Charity which looks after Little Paxton Village Hall.

Our Treasurer - and fellow trustee - Graham is stepping down for health reasons in the first quarter of 2026.

We'll be sad to see him go and grateful for the work he has done for the hall over the last few years.

That does mean we’re now looking for a new Treasurer, and we’re also looking for anyone who might be interested in becoming a trustee.

As Treasurer you’ll ideally have accountancy or bookkeeping experience and be comfortable with MS spreadsheets and email.

If that could be you, or. if someone comes to mind when you read this, please drop me a message, or, email [email protected].

We’re a small friendly Team who take our role, but not ourselves seriously, so you will have fun!
