We had a fabulous March meeting, with a superb talk by our Rachel, which attracted a large audience. A comprehensive talk covering all aspects of Maples as Bonsai, from correct naming to seasonal care, fertilisation and achieving good ramification. I think all members found this talk entertaining as well as very educational.
There were examples of Maples to look at, brought in by members as well as Rachel.
Thankyou Rachel, for the time and effort you put in for us. It is very much appreciated by all of us.

Happy New Year to all!

This month's meeting is the bring and buy sale. Where members bring in bonsai related items to sell, buy, swap etc. It's also a good meeting to talk about plans for the year and ask advice.

This year's AGM was held on 2nd Monday (8th Dec) rather than 3rd Monday, as is the norm on the run up to Christmas. Thankyou to those members who battled through the dreadful weather to be present. The committee reports were given to update members on the past year's activities, finances, and membership, with questions invited. Two members have stood down this year, with thanks given for their contributions. The committee has accepted a new member to join them for the coming year. Well done to them.

**A big THANKYOU to the committee for all of the hard work throughout the year. It is very much appreciated.**

After the AGM, it was the social and Christmas buffet, with food brought in by the committee and members. Lovely spread and enjoyed by all, thankyou.

The following quiz was informal and fun, largely bonsai related, and ended in a tie of 3 people for the top spot, each receiving a prize. Well done.

This month's meeting is a demonstration by Caz Bonsai!

This meeting will be held on the 4th Monday of the month, instead of our usual 3rd. So if you intend to come to this meeting, please be aware it is being held on the 22nd September

Visitors welcome at £5 each for the evening.

All set up and ready for judging at Southport Flower Show! Our first time at the biggest independent show in the country!

From what we've seen so far, it looks a brilliant show. So if you're around from tomorrow, it's well worth a visit!
