At Sea Cadets, our values of inclusion, respect, teamwork, self-belief, and good citizenship are at the heart of everything we do. Our units are, and always will be, places where everyone is welcome, valued, and respected, regardless of their background, race, religion, or beliefs.
We recognise that some of the events and discussions taking place in our communities and online may be unsettling. We want to reassure every cadet that you are an important part of the Sea Cadet family, and that our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all remains unchanged.
With concerns that further disruption may take place this evening, your safety and wellbeing are our highest priority. We encourage all cadets to stay at home, avoid areas where disorder or anti-social behaviour may occur, and not become involved in any activity that could place you or others at risk.
As Sea Cadets, we are known for making responsible choices, showing respect for others, and being positive role models within our communities. The decisions you make today can have a lasting impact on your future, so please think carefully, stay safe, and look after one another.
If you are worried, feel unsafe, or simply need someone to talk to, please reach out to a parent, carer, trusted adult, or a member of your unit staff. You can also contact Childline on 0800 1111 for free, confidential support at any time. If you ever feel in immediate danger, contact the PSNI on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
We look forward to welcoming you back to your unit as soon as it is safe to do so.
Stay safe, look after each other, and continue to be an example of the values that make Sea Cadets such a special organisation.
