Kilimanjaro Water Project is a small family run charity, that each year visits some of the most remote impoverished parts of Tanzania in East Africa with a mission to provide running water. Access to this most basic need is the first step out of poverty. On our missions, the team have drilled various wells to retrieve clean accessible water. Providing this creates both a foundation on which commun
ities can grow and an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. With running water over the years we have built medical centres, health clinics, schools and workshops in extremely rural areas of Tanzania. Every year prior to travelling to the mission in East Africa, committee members and advisors carefully plan the construction and prepare the materials for the completion of each individual project. At the backdrop of all our projects is a fundamental component – funding. To gather essential materials for our projects, intensive fundraising is crucial. Our annual fundraiser on 27th December, Ballymac Hotel is pivotal to the completion of each project. Last year, generous donations funded the shipment of 20ft container packed with essential items to aid the mission. The centres, schools and workshops are worked by local Tanzanians. This allows the community to be self-sufficient and sustainable. It is your fundraising donations that provide a direct wage to the medical staff and teachers.
