🎉🎂 A BIG birthday thank you! 🎂🎉

One of our lovely volunteers celebrated his 50th birthday this week and asked for donations to Liphook Food Bank instead of birthday gifts! 💚

What a wonderful idea, and a huge thank you for thinking of us! Every penny donated will go towards next week’s shop, helping us stock up on essentials like coffee, tins and pasta sauces. ☕🥫🍝

🌾 A heartfelt thank you from Liphook Food Bank 🌾

We were delighted to see the beautiful windowsills at St Mary’s Church decorated so wonderfully for their Harvest Festival service at the weekend. 🍂🌻

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the service and, most importantly, to those who so kindly donated non-perishable food items to support Liphook Food Bank.

Your generosity and thoughtfulness make a real difference to local people and families in our community. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support. 💛

💚 A little Food Bank update from us…

If you use the BanktheFood app, you’ll find our most-needed items listed there and updated regularly. 📱🛒

But we know not everyone uses the app, so we thought we’d share this week’s list here too!

If you happen to be doing a food shop and fancy adding an extra item to your trolley, it would be very gratefully received. 😊

No pressure, no guilt — just a little reminder that one extra tin or packet can make a real difference to someone in our local community.

🍎 Got more apples than you know what to do with? 🍎

If you’ve got a bumper crop of apples this year, Liphook Food Bank would be delighted to take them off your hands and share them with our customers! ❤️

Just pop your apples into a bag and drop them at one of our usual donation points at Sainsbury’s or The Co-op, or bring them directly to us on Tuesdays or Fridays, 09:30–11:30.

Local Liphook apples are absolutely divine and they went down a treat with our customers last year! 🍏

So, if your apple trees are overflowing, please think of us. Every apple will be gratefully received! 🍎💚

🛍️ A little bag appeal! 🛍️

We’re getting very low on carrier bags at Liphook Food Bank — in fact, we’ve only got a couple left! 😬

If you have any spare sturdy plastic carrier bags, we’d be very grateful for donations. Ideally, we’re looking for bags that have a bit of strength to them — the really thin ones just aren’t strong enough when they’re filled with tins and other heavier items.

At the other end of the scale, we don’t really need the ginormous bags for life! 😂 They’re tricky for us to store and fold, and sadly they often don’t make their way back to us.

📍 Donating bags is easy: just leave them in either of the Liphook Food Bank donation points at The Co-op or Sainsbury’s. Thank you! 💚

🛍️ And a little reminder to our food bank customers:
Please remember to bring your own shopping bags when you visit us, and if you’ve borrowed bags from us, please bring them back when you can. Every bag returned helps!

👶🩷 One other little donation-box note…

We think some of the items kindly donated following our recent urgent appeal for baby items and sanitary towels may have accidentally ended up in the Bordon Food Bank box.

We completely understand — these things happen! 😊 And we can’t very well go rummaging around in someone else’s donation box to retrieve them!

So, if you’re donating specifically for Liphook Food Bank, please do load up the Liphook box. It does say “Liphook” on it, so hopefully that helps avoid any further food bank postal confusion! 😄

🛒 Anthony has been let loose in the shops again! 😂

Our trusty volunteer Anthony is usually on cleaning products and toiletries duty, but this time he’s branched out into the exciting world of coffee, Weetabix (well… the unbranded kind because it’s cheaper and the kids don’t know the difference 😉) and honey! 🍯☕️

Of course, it simply wouldn’t be an Anthony shopping trip without 12 bottles of bleach making their way into the trolley! 🧴😂

💷 £126.25 later… crikey, it soon adds up!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to us this month. ❤️ Every penny really does make a difference and has helped make this shop possible.

And Anthony… we’ll see you next time. We’re guessing the bleach will be back too! 😉
