We’re really trying to spend less in the shops… but the shelves keep mysteriously emptying themselves 🤷♀️🛒 Apparently people still insist on eating, washing up and using loo roll. The audacity. 😅😂
With a steady increase in new customers and fewer donations coming in, keeping the food bank stocked is becoming quite a juggling act 🤹♀️💛
One of our volunteer shoppers has headed out twice in the past fortnight to buy essentials including:
• 20 jars of pasta sauce 🍝• 20 bags of sugar 🍬• 20 tins of baked beans 🫘• 36 cartons of UHT milk 🥛• 21 packs of no-frills biscuits 🍪• 19 antibac sprays 🧴• 36 bottles of bleach 🫧• 45 loo rolls 🧻• 23 washing up liquids 🍽️
The totals came to £90.37 on the first shop and £67 on the second 💸😮
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated the odd few pounds here and there — those donations genuinely help us keep food on our shelves and support local families when donations run low ❤️🙏
With half term next week, demand is likely to increase again 📈 If you’re able to pop an extra item into the donation boxes at Sainsbury’s or the Co-Op, we would be incredibly grateful 🛍️💕
If you’re unsure what to donate, our most-needed items right now are:• Tinned hot dogs 🌭• Tuna 🐟• Mayonnaise 🥪• Tinned sweetcorn 🌽• Long life milk 🥛
Thank you, Liphook — your support means more than you know 💛
Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts! ☀️
