We are delighted to announce the 3rd year of our
•YOUNG MUSICIAN BURSARY•

This bursary was founded in memory of Hazel Briton and Sandra Jackson-Bass, former members of Linlithgow Ladies Choir. We make one award per year (this year set at £350), which may be used toward any costs connected to the recipient working towards their musical goals (for example, this might include purchase of an instrument or sheet music, tuition fees, travel costs or expenses to take part in development opportunities, or anything else the applicant feels would be useful to their development).

✨Competition time – The Adventures of Rosie✨

Are you aged 6–13 and enjoy writing stories or drawing pictures? We’d love you to take
part in a special competition from Linlithgow Ladies Choir.

We are looking for stories and drawings to illustrate our songs, which should all feature
Rosie, a fun-loving wee dog from Linlithgow.

Rosie loves adventure and travel, and she also loves the countryside and spending time
with her friends. Can you imagine some of the things she might get up to?

We are looking for stories of up to 500 words, with or without a drawing, or simply a
drawing by itself, on any of the concert’s themes. The ten winning stories will be read as
part of the concert on Saturday 12th September, and winning artwork displayed, plus tickets to the concert for you
and your family.

The themes are:
• Friendship
• A starry night
• A singing bird
• Flowers
• A magic carpet
• Mermaids
• Flying a kite
• Cherry trees
• Scotland’s countryside
• Kenya
• Mary Queen of Scots
