Cycling Without Age Scotland Linlithgow This allows all who join us to feel and be an integral part of a highly respected Scotland-wide movement.

CWAS Linlithgow group are looking to enhance and enrich lives by giving passengers access to the beautiful outdoors through trishaw rides, access which is denied to so many people simply because of age or limited mobility. We will also maintain the highest and robust standards of safety in all our operations, fully complying with the requirements of the Scottish Care Inspectorate, and develop even further what is already a recognised brand.

Yesterday we were joined by students from Linlithgow Academy involved in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) at the Academy..

The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative is an educational and active citizenship programme that teaches secondary school students about philanthropy and social issues.

They joined us and saw our setup and what is required before we headed to Linlithgow Care Home.

They the observed how our volunteers interact with the residents and carers.

We all progressed along our beautiful route around the town and the students happily chatted to everyone they met.

Thanks to the student's for there enthusiasm and all their ideas to move the project forward. They were a credit to themselves and the Academy.

They will go to other Care Homes with us and run coffee mornings (with home baking) in the homes as well as interviewing residents and film our routes.

After the Quiz and the RT B**r Festival it was nice to have a Trishaw rides week.

Visits from Livingston and Prestonpans as well as our usual Care Home visits made it another lovely week.

Big shout to all at JMK our local printers who recycled our Commonwealth Games frame into CWAS Linlithgow frame..

Not only did they repurpose the Frame the also designed and made b**r mats from recycled cardboard to match.

And they did this all in a week whuch allowed us to use them at tje Round Table B**r festival.

What great community service. đź‘Ź

Happy to say our 24 volunteers survived the Linlithgow Round Table annual B**r Festival..

What a day for chat, music, food, catching up with folk and of course B**r.

Well done all our new volunteers serving b**r for the first time and to the others for supporting them.

Thanks to the Round Table guys for looking after us and the Burgh Halls staff for hosting such a good day.

Fantastic atmosphere at the Platform 3 monthly Quiz Night.

I knew our general knowledge swotting over the year as we cycle (called gossiping) would come in handy.

Our teams were 2nd and 5th but it's the taking part. We'll done Clint Eastwood the winners.

Thanks to Ian Gibson, the staff at P3 and of course the indomitable David Paterson for hosting us..

All funds raised will go towards a new Trishaw for the start of next season.

Another busy week with visits to Linlithgow Care Home, Ark People Housing Care and Bield Housing Association centres in Linlithgow.

It's always nice to get a visit from another CWAS Chapter.

Ian and Leslie from CWAS Twechar brought along Leslie son to try out our Wheelchair Accessible Trishaw and see round Linlithgow.

They had a fab time especially feeding the ducks and the weather was great.

As you know we love a coffee after our cycles..

Yesterday we had such a lovely cycle with Linlithgow Care Home yesterday that it took a little longer than usual..

When we got to the Cross all the Cafe's were shutting but the staff at Aran went beyond.

We pass Aran Cafe most days on our route and they said "it warms there heart to see all the smiling faces as we go by".

The staff sang as they rebuilt there coffee machine and served our Pilot's.

Such customer service and community awareness is what makes Linlithgow such a great place to live..

Thanks to all at Aran Cafe we'll be back..

As you know we rely on donations from the wonderful Linlithgow community and this Thursday allows us to have a social night out at our annual Quiz at
Platform 3.

Platform 3, Ian Gibson and staff and of course the one and only David Paterson from Walk for Jock have been fantastic supporters of CWAS Linlithgow.

So please come along as its a good night and all monies raised will go towards purchase of a new Trishaw to support our busy schedule of activities next season.
