Cycling Without Age Scotland Linlithgow

Cycling Without Age Scotland Linlithgow This allows all who join us to feel and be an integral part of a highly respected Scotland-wide movement.

CWAS Linlithgow group are looking to enhance and enrich lives by giving passengers access to the beautiful outdoors through trishaw rides, access which is denied to so many people simply because of age or limited mobility. We will also maintain the highest and robust standards of safety in all our operations, fully complying with the requirements of the Scottish Care Inspectorate, and develop even further what is already a recognised brand.

Nice to be back in Linlithgow after our busy week at the Forth Road Bridge.

We had a Birthday Celebration,
a private booking,
a visit from AlmondValley Care Home and our usual cycle with Linlithgow Care Home HC1.

Shows the wide range of trips we offer around Linlithgow ranging from 4 to 29 passengers and our fabulous volunteers.

With the weather improving why not book a cycle on 07835 938469.

Today was dry and very relaxed after the challenges of the showers on Wed and Thursday.

We were joined by volunteers from South Queensferry, Musselburgh, Dunfermline and Linlithgow.

Nice to have Christine CWAS CEO along to join in all the fun.

Thanks everyone for your support.

Best quote of the day "I'm not old enough to go in a Trishaw" said the 85 year old.. love independent ladies..

We have some availability at 11am and 1pm for our last crossing the iconic Forth Road Bridge cycles this Sunday in memory of Hector Woodhouse.

What an incredible week we’ve had at Orchardhead House Residential Home.

We were lucky enough to cycle across the Forth Road Bridge with the amazing volunteers from Cycling Without Age. Along the way, we met truly wonderful people who give their time so generously to create and share such special moments with older members of our community.

Residents of all ages took part — including one remarkable lady who is 101 years old. Here are just a few of the lovely comments from the day:

“After being very poorly, it was wonderful to do this today with my best friend. It has given me a reason to keep going and a new zest for life.”

“I never thought at 101 years old I would be cycling across the Forth Road Bridge. What a wonderful experience — I loved every minute of it.”

“It made me feel young again.”

We truly cannot thank the volunteers enough for their kindness, humour, and generosity. What you do is absolutely marvellous, and these moments will stay with us all for a very long time.

What humbling comments from one of the passengers..

Another fabulous day and we were able to take 58 passengers over the Forth Road Bridge..

We even had a flat tyre and thanks to HQ and our trained volunteers we got it sorted on site. (We even found the glass that caused the puncture and we tidied the glass away off the public foot path)

Thanks to all fantastic volunteers who came from all over the Forth valley to support the event especially the Pilot taking her first outing.

No such thing as bad weather in Scotland only the wrong jacket and today certainly proved that.

We always tend to wrap our elderly up but today we were amazed by their resilience and will power of our passengers and volunteers to get across the Bridge.

Thanks to our community for
donationing waterproof jackets, blankets covers, hats and snoods they were so needed today.

Today cakes and coffee were so much appreciated by everyone.

What memories form today as you'll see in the pictures and we even had some CWAS legends join us.

The weather was kind again today and we were able to take out the fabulous 101 years young Lilian across the Forth Road Bridge and she was delighted to see the sea.

It's only been two days but the positive reaction from our passengers and carers has been over whelming.

The Manager of Bridge also came out to see us and was delighted to be part of the event. He was so happy to see all the smiling faces.

Thanks again to our Tuesday volunteers for there sypport and bringing two sets of home baking..

I'm sure Hector was looking down on us today and would have been so proud of Cycling Without Age Scotland Linlithgow volunteers.

Just a fantastic day and big thank-you Transport Scotland and BEAR Scotland for there outstanding support for our event.

Martin Brown also popped over to take a few photos before he headed down south. Cheers.

Great to see Linlithgow Home HC1, Linlithgow Day Care and all the 30 passengers who were there today.

Well done our fabulous volunteers and Clive from Dunfermline Chapter joining us for such good team work and the cakes.

We are on all week weather permitting so please call us if you want a Trishaw cycle across the Iconic Forth Road Bridge.
