Cycling Without Age Scotland Linlithgow

Cycling Without Age Scotland Linlithgow This allows all who join us to feel and be an integral part of a highly respected Scotland-wide movement.

CWAS Linlithgow group are looking to enhance and enrich lives by giving passengers access to the beautiful outdoors through trishaw rides, access which is denied to so many people simply because of age or limited mobility. We will also maintain the highest and robust standards of safety in all our operations, fully complying with the requirements of the Scottish Care Inspectorate, and develop even further what is already a recognised brand.

Our busiest week of the year and what an amazing day we had at the Marches on our eight Trishaws.

Thanks HQ for getting them here and Court Residence for storing them, much appreciated.

Lovely to be able to show the community our Trishaws and volunteers all dressed up.
Our home baking, crisps and water snacks went down well at the Bridge. Thanks Tesco and our volunteers for your support.

Great to see all our passengers joining in and enjoying the experience.
Thanks everyone who said hello and took photo's..

We also fitted in a couple of visits to Linlithgow Care Home HC1 which were very relaxing..

Another week of dodging the showers but managed two trips to Linlithgow Care Home HC1 and one with our friends at ARK Housing..

We also borrowed a Trishaw from CWAS HQ which allowed us to accelerate the training of our new volunteers as we approach our busy summer season..

Thanks to all our experienced and new volunteers for such a good teamwork..

Our lovely Scottish summer weather curtailed our Trishaws cycles but we were still out and about in the community.

We visited our friends at Linlithgow Care Home, helped join Burgh Beautiful Linlithgow and other local groups in planting the Serpentine and we're invited to Platform 3 200th quiz.

At the quiz we saw first hand how our community pulls together.

Ronnie Bamberry from the Kingsfiield Golf kindly donated an Ootsider Rain Jacket (John was there) after seeing pictures of us crossing the Forth Road Bridge in the inclement weather.
The elderly will now be covered head to toe.

It's amazing to think David Paterson has hosted 200 quizzes over 20 years and raised £55,000 for local groups and charities in the community.

Thanks to Ian Gibson and the staff at Platform 3 for all their support..

Nice to be back in Linlithgow after our busy week at the Forth Road Bridge.

We had a Birthday Celebration,
a private booking,
a visit from AlmondValley Care Home and our usual cycle with Linlithgow Care Home HC1.

Shows the wide range of trips we offer around Linlithgow ranging from 4 to 29 passengers and our fabulous volunteers.

With the weather improving why not book a cycle on 07835 938469.

Today was dry and very relaxed after the challenges of the showers on Wed and Thursday.

We were joined by volunteers from South Queensferry, Musselburgh, Dunfermline and Linlithgow.

Nice to have Christine CWAS CEO along to join in all the fun.

Thanks everyone for your support.

Best quote of the day "I'm not old enough to go in a Trishaw" said the 85 year old.. love independent ladies..

We have some availability at 11am and 1pm for our last crossing the iconic Forth Road Bridge cycles this Sunday in memory of Hector Woodhouse.

What an incredible week we’ve had at Orchardhead House Residential Home.

We were lucky enough to cycle across the Forth Road Bridge with the amazing volunteers from Cycling Without Age. Along the way, we met truly wonderful people who give their time so generously to create and share such special moments with older members of our community.

Residents of all ages took part — including one remarkable lady who is 101 years old. Here are just a few of the lovely comments from the day:

“After being very poorly, it was wonderful to do this today with my best friend. It has given me a reason to keep going and a new zest for life.”

“I never thought at 101 years old I would be cycling across the Forth Road Bridge. What a wonderful experience — I loved every minute of it.”

“It made me feel young again.”

We truly cannot thank the volunteers enough for their kindness, humour, and generosity. What you do is absolutely marvellous, and these moments will stay with us all for a very long time.

What humbling comments from one of the passengers..
