So proud of our member Joe Trofer-cook!! Some really amazing work !!🐑🌾

It's a pleasure to introduce you to our 2026 Young Fundraising Hero... Joe Trofer-Cook!

At just 14 years old, two-time Young British Farming Awards finalist, Lincolnshire’s Joe Trofer-Cook, has demonstrated remarkable initiative, organising a farm nativity event that raised an impressive £4,700 for two causes close to his heart. Joe wanted to support his local Heckington and Sleaford Young Farmers Club, while also raising money for the air ambulance, recognising its vital role in responding to farm and rural accidents. He organised much of the event himself, bringing together local children, farm animals and more than 200 members of the community for a sell-out two-night event.

Held in an old cow shed, the traditional nativity featured Joe’s show sheep, his sheepdog performing tricks, cows and a donkey supplied by Cannon Hall Farm. Local businesses and individuals rallied behind Joe, donating an array of farm-related raffle prizes, while local producers supplied strawberries and Christmas vegetables. With music, refreshments and television coverage adding to the occasion, Joe’s determination turned a simple idea into a memorable community fundraising success.

Incredible work Joe!

Just over three weeks ago we hosted our first bingo night in the village which saw an amazing 130 people attend!

Safe to say we didn’t expect the response we received and would like to say a massive thank you to the following people:

⭐️ Everyone who came out to show their support
⭐️ All of the amazing business that donated prizes
⭐️Heckington Village Hall for hosting us
⭐️ Freddie Buckberry for auctioning off lots of different items
⭐️Parents and Advisory of the club for supporting the set up, take down and playing
⭐️Simon Maplethorpe for being our Bingo caller
⭐️Max, Dom, Sam, Callum and Ali for putting the night together, sourcing the prizes and doing a fab job of keeping everyone fed and watered on the night

Watch this space as we are already planning the next one and hope to see so many more people!

Everyone who came to the evening helped us raise a whopping £1500 for the club which means we can carry on supporting all the young people in the community!

⭐️THANK YOU⭐️
