The Still Ones are waiting… 🌲👁️

Our build team at Sudbrooke Park have been working wonders, and the woods are nearly ready to receive their visitors.

A huge thank you to Roz at Mannakin for generously donating a haul of body parts. Her kindness has helped bring one of our scenes to life, and the Still Ones now stand among the trees, waiting for the Explorers to arrive. Don't take your eyes off them.

We love what Roz is doing at Mannkin Hall, saving mannequins from landfill and giving them a creepy new life. Head over to her page for Halloween inspiration, and maybe even book your own body part heist. 🖐️🦵

We can't wait to welcome Explorer Scouts from across Lincolnshire to our first ever Screambrooke this weekend.

One small step for Lincoln Scouts… one giant leap for our Explorers! 🚀

Last night, 18 lucky Explorer Scouts from across Lincoln District headed to the Engine Shed for Tim Peake's ASTRONAUTS: The Quest to Explore Space – and what a night it was!

Our Explorers heard first-hand what it's really like to live and work on the International Space Station, from the view of Earth from above to the years of training it takes to get there. The history of spaceflight, the missions still to come – it was all out of this world. 🌍✨

The best bit? Getting to meet Tim Peake himself, who, as an Ambassador for The Scouts is part of our Scouting family. A huge thank you to Tim for taking the time to chat with our young people – inspiring stuff! 👩‍🚀👨‍🚀

Who knows where Scouting might take you… maybe even the stars. ⭐

CREW NEEDED: SCREAMBROOKE IS COMING 🎃

This October, Lincoln Scouts is running Screambrooke - a brand new immersive Halloween overnight experience for Lincolnshire Explorer Scouts at Sudbrooke Park Scout Campsite.

Think woodland scare trails, a scare maze, campfire storytelling and adventurous activities, all built around an original spooky legend - the Lady of the Lake.

An event this big needs a small army of volunteers to bring it to life, and staff bookings are now open.

Roles include:
🌲 Character actors (Wardens, Followers and more)
🔥 Campfire and crafts helpers
🔨 Trail, prop and set build
📻 Event control, catering, first aid and crew and general helpers

All you need is a valid Scout DBS. Whatever your skills, there's a role for you.

🎉 HAPPY 114TH BIRTHDAY, LINCOLN DISTRICT SCOUTS! 🎉

Today, 29 August 2026, we celebrate 114 years of Scouting in Lincoln! ⚜️

📜 1912 – 2026 | 114 Years of Adventure

On 29 August 1912, a meeting held at the Deanery, close to Lincoln Cathedral, helped establish the formal Lincoln and District Boy Scouts Local Association — the beginning of what became Lincoln District Scouts.

But Scouting had already begun in Lincoln, with early groups including Lindum Pioneers, Newland, Orion, Hydra and Priory. A surviving flag from 1910 is a wonderful reminder of those early beginnings.

Over the past 114 years, Lincoln Scouting has continued through two World Wars, changing times and generations of young people and volunteers.

Today, thousands of young people continue to learn skills, make friends and have adventures, supported by generations of dedicated volunteers.

From those first groups over a century ago to the Scouts of today, one thing remains the same:

Young people learning, growing, exploring and having adventures together. 💚

“I am proud of being who I am and I am very proud of being a Scout!”

Pheonix, a volunteer in our District had the opportunity to be part of the national Scout Pride campaign and showcase some of the new pride merch available for 2026.

We’re overjoyed to see them in the spotlight and showing positive representation for Trans and Non-Binary members. We’re proud to be inclusive and we’re proud to Scout together.

A huge thank you to Excalibur Explorers - and their very enthusiastic helpers from 7th Lincoln Scout Group Beavers - who gave up their time yesterday to improve the reflection corner at Altham Terrace Scout Campsite. 🌟

The story chair has had a beautiful makeover, and as you can see, some very small hands have helped leave their mark on the site too. 🖐️🎨

Youth-shaped Scouting moments like this, are exactly what it's all about.

Watch this space - we've got some exciting plans for Altham Terrace, and we'd love more people to be part of its story. 👀

Today, our very own Sudbrooke Park Scout Campsite was the perfect setting for a very special milestone - Beavers' 40th Birthday! 🦫🎉

It was an absolutely magical day, and we couldn't have done it without the incredible team of volunteers who gave their time and energy to make it happen. Whether you were running activities, setting up, helping out behind the scenes, or just bringing your brilliant enthusiasm - thank you. You made the day truly special for every single Beaver who joined us from across Lincoln District. 🙌

A huge thank you also to Global Adventure for bringing the bungee trampolines - an absolute highlight for so many little adventurers! 🎪⬆️ - and to the Sudbrooke Park site team for looking after us all so brilliantly - and for opening up the all-new tuck shop to a very enthusiastic crowd of rampaging sugar fiends. 🍬🏪😄

To all our Beavers - we hope you had the most amazing time and that today is a day you'll remember for years to come. And to those staying overnight… we hope after all that adventure, you drift off quickly and sleep soundly! 😄🏕️

Big news arrived in the post today! 📬

Lincoln Scouts has been recognised as a Growth Champion for 2025 - awarded nationally to groups who've made a real difference in growing the movement.

And grow we have! Across every section, from Squirrels right through to Network, and in our adult volunteer numbers too, Lincoln has had a brilliant year. 🌱

This kind of growth doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of incredible volunteers showing up week after week, giving young people in Lincoln adventures, friendships, and skills they'll carry for life. This award is testament to every single one of them - thank you. 🙏

And a special thank you to the Spartan Explorers for inviting us along to their Investiture barbecue this evening - and for their, ahem, enthusiastic reaction to the news! Welcoming new members on a gorgeous summer evening is exactly what Scouts is all about. 🔥🌅

But here's the thing - we've still got a waitlist. There are young people right here in Lincoln ready to join, and we need more brilliant humans to help us say yes to them.

Whether you can spare a few hours a week or just want to see what it's all about, we'd love to hear from you. No scouting experience needed - just enthusiasm and a willingness to make a difference.
