Fifteen dedicated nurses and healthcare workers from Lincoln’s Maternity Unit are gearing up for an incredible challenge – cycling 50 miles in a single day to support baby healthcare.
On Sunday 5 July, the team will ride from Lincoln County Hospital to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, and back, joining neonatal teams across the country in a national fundraising effort marking 50 years of the British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM).
Every mile counts 🌟 – funds raised will support United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity, helping provide vital extras for some of the most poorly babies and their families, from specialist equipment to comfort resources for parents.
👶 Neonatal Unit Manager Helen Fletcher said:
“BAPM sets the standards we work to every day, ensuring the highest quality care. It’s a privilege to support families and watch their confidence grow as they care for their babies.”
🚴♀️ Team members Sally Atkinson and Ruby Smythe, both keen cyclists, are ready for the challenge:
“It will be hard work, but if we can raise money to help babies and families, it will be so worth it – we’re just hoping for sunshine!”
👏 A huge thank you to our amazing team – we’ll be cheering you on every mile of the way!
