Communities aren't built by design; they’re built by the people who volunteer their time to keep our villages vibrant. This spirit was on full display at the Potterhanworth Annual Parish Meeting on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.
As a legal requirement for all English parishes, this annual forum (held between March and June) offers a dedicated space for registered electors to discuss village affairs, vote on local matters, and hold the council accountable. It’s a vital opportunity for residents to share views and hear directly from those shaping the community.
This year’s meeting featured updates from a wide range of local groups and representatives:
• Allotments: Jessica Alcock
• Beer Festival: Nigel Sarderson
• Christ Hospital: Mark Andrews
• Culfrey Lands Charity: Nigel Sarderson
• Hanworth Country Park: Steve Wetton
• History Group: Ralph Wilford
• Lincolnshire County Council: Cllr Ian Carrington
• Over 60s: Maureen Good
• POTCOM: Sue Ellis and Georgian Blake
• Scouts: Amanda Crombie and Sophie Williams
• St Andrew’s Church: Mark Suthern
• Potterhanworth Parish Council: Chair, Cllr Sarah Cospey
We were also pleased to welcome our guest speaker, Paul Drury, the Lincolnshire Armed Forces Community Covenant Officer.
A sincere thank you to all our speakers and attendees for contributing to such an informative evening.
