Central Lincolnshire Local Plan Scoping Consultation

The Central Lincolnshire Local Plans Team is starting the first stage of consultation on a new Central Lincolnshire Local Plan, called the Scoping Consultation.
The Government requires local plans to be kept up to date. This consultation is your opportunity to tell us what issues and topics you think the new Local Plan should address and how it should be prepared.
You can view the consultation documents online on the Central Lincolnshire website and respond through a series of online surveys covering different topics. You can comment on all parts of the consultation, or only those topics that interest you.
Please submit your response through the online surveys wherever possible. However, if you would prefer to prepare your response offline first, downloadable versions of the surveys are available on the web link above.
Printed copies of the consultation documents will be available, during normal opening hours, at the main reception areas of:
• City of Lincoln Council
• North Kesteven District Council; and
• West Lindsey District Council
Printed copies will also be made available at the built libraries across the area during normal opening hours.
The consultation runs for six weeks from Thursday 22 October 2026 to 23:59 on Thursday 3 December 2026. Please send us your response by this date, as late submissions may not be accepted.

In addition to completing the surveys, we would be grateful if you could help raise awareness of the consultation among residents, businesses and community groups in your parish. Your Council has an important role in engaging local communities through established communication channels such as mailing lists, newsletters, websites and social media.

Responsible for producing the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan which contains planning policies that relate to the delivery and management of development in Central Lincolnshire.

Communities aren't built by design; they’re built by the people who volunteer their time to keep our villages vibrant. This spirit was on full display at the Potterhanworth Annual Parish Meeting on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

As a legal requirement for all English parishes, this annual forum (held between March and June) offers a dedicated space for registered electors to discuss village affairs, vote on local matters, and hold the council accountable. It’s a vital opportunity for residents to share views and hear directly from those shaping the community.

This year’s meeting featured updates from a wide range of local groups and representatives:

On behalf of North Kesteven District Council - Empty Homes

The aim of this poster is to alert residents impacted by empty homes within their area – and indeed owners of such empty properties – to get in touch, as by bringing them to our attention we can support their owners through various measures that will help to bring them back into use much sooner – securing a local community asset, additional housing, and an income for their owners.

In the past year we have supported owners through various measures to achieve a record number of returned properties and we are, as ever, keen to achieve even more since making good use of existing but empty or derelict properties brings many benefits to our District of Flourishing Communities.
