Today in the wind and inclement weather of Lincolnshire, our Cadets and Staff went on a March for Combat Stress. Organised by Cdt Cpl Moran this was a way for our Squadron to support a very worthwhile organisation and one very pertinent to what we do. Following a route that led from Hartsholme Park in the City and along the Lincoln Edge and back to the Squadron they all put their best foot forward for the cause. The Squadron is extremely proud of our young people who frequently give up their spare time for Squadron Events and Fundraising. Thank you to all Cadets and Staff who participated. At the end of play the total raised was an amazing £838.00!!!! You can still donate if you wish by clicking

At Friday night Squadron this week we had a very special treat for our Cadets. Mr Steve Kilbon visited and brought with his his vast scale replica of Vulcan XM607, the bomber that struck Port Stanley Air Field during the Falkland’s Conflict in 1982. This lovingly recreated replica is a fully flight capable radio controlled aircraft which he flies regularly at Elvington Air Field. The evening gave our Cadets the chance to talk STEM and drone flying with Steve as well as get close up to a spare engine he had brought with him for explanation purposes. The Squadron would like to extend our grateful thanks to Steve for coming down and bringing 607 with him and giving our Cadets such a unique opportunity

Last week we welcomed a visitor from one of our sister squadrons. Cdt Cpl Matavuso visited us from 47F - Grantham ATC to see how 1237 Sqn runs and gain some insight into how we function. This cross pollination between Squadrons allows exchange of ideas and learning points. During the visit he was accompanied and ably provided for by Cdt Warrant Officer Pape.

Please join us at 1237 Sqn by paying tribute to our hard working Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, Service Instructors and Civilian Committee members on International Women's Day.

Our hard working Adjutant is CI Wilkinson who keeps the administrative running of the Squadron moving smoothly and as a Flautist supports the musicians and band of the Squadron with local and national events

We also have SI's Allmark and Cornes who both having been a cadet prior to joining the RAF decided that they wanted to continue working with young people and have joined us in addition to their substantive duties speaking volumes of their dedication to giving cadets the best experience

Our fantastic Padre is Del Gunter who attends to support the cadets and provide pastoral teaching and sessions aimed to get their minds considering the challenges they may encounter

And finally our hard working Civilian Committee members RCivComs Brown, Wren, Fisher and Price whose hard work supports the ongoing needs of the Squadron and ensures that the cadets have access to what they need to enjoy events and activities

Thank you to you all for your dedication to the Squadron and it's cadets

As we grow our Squadron we're looking for Adults to join us as Volunteers. This evening the Squadron attended the home of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team - RAF Red Arrows as guest of Gp Capt Robbie Lees. Our cadets were treated to a tour of the hangar where they got to see the Hawk aircraft up close and ask questions of Red 8 - Sqn Ldr Chris McCann and Senior Engineering Officer (SEngO) Sqn Ldr Andy King. Our sincerest thanks go to Gp Capt Lees and his team for allowing us such a fantastic visit, making yet more memories for our Cadets.

This lunchtime our Training Flight graduated in the fabulous surroundings of Newark Air Museum. We were very fortunate indeed to have Gp Capt Robbie Lees conduct the inspection of the graduating flight. Under the expert guidance of Sqn Ldr Wilkinson and Sgt Corbett the cadets passed out with pride in front of many proud parents and family members. The cadets have worked extremely hard to reach this point and will now be allocated to their respective Flights by the Squadron Adjutant to continue their journey. It is always a moment of huge pride for the Squadron staff who work hard to enable the Cadets to achieve their goals. The Squadron would like to extend our sincere thanks to Gp Capt Lees for supporting this event Commandant Air Cadets
