Good morning and a happy 4x4 Response Day! 4th April... 4th of the 4th... 4x4... you get it.

Throughout today we will be posting all sorts of call outs and activities our Responders and Groups get up to over the year. Some you will be aware of if you follow your local groups, some you might have seen us doing, and plenty that goes on in the background to keep the groups working efficiently.

Quarry Open Day

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the Lincolnshire 4x4 Response Quarry Open Day!

Despite a very wet start, it turned into a fantastic day. The conditions made the quarry surface like ice at times, which actually created some brilliant and realistic training opportunities.

It was a great chance for learning, professional development, and sharpening our skills — as well as catching up with everyone and having a good natter.

Thanks again to all who came along and helped make it such a great day!

Did you know that all of the pictured 4x4 Response teams are part of a nationwide volunteer network?

We are proud members of 4x4 Response UK — a UK-wide association of independent 4x4 Response teams who provide specialist transport and logistical support during adverse weather and major incidents.

Across the country, dedicated volunteers use their own 4x4 vehicles to support communities when conventional transport can’t get through.

🚙 Transporting NHS staff during snow and flooding
🌧️ Supporting Local Resilience Forums
🚨 Assisting emergency services with logistics
🏡 Reaching rural and isolated communities
🎪 Providing event support and resilience planning

Each team operates independently within their county, but together we share a common goal:

Supporting communities when they need it most.

With increasingly unpredictable weather and rural challenges, volunteer resilience has never been more important — and we’re proud to stand alongside teams across the UK making a difference every day.
