Sandra's phone takes rather good pictures and here are a couple she took of the meadow. It did look very lovely and it was one of the factors which helped Oxfam raise nearly £500.00.

I am so very pleased to be able to tell you that at Kate's Garden Party today £478.34 was raised for Oxfam. £78.34 was book & music sales and £400 was Unwrapped, spread between Chickens, Bees and Allotments.
The generosity of the people of South Scarle was astounding. Not only did they help out on the day and come to eat cakes and drink tea, but they donated amazing gifts for the raffle that raised over £200.
My volunteers were also fantastic. So many helped on the day, brought cakes, or came to eat and take part in the raffle, or all three. Plus they brought their partners who made a great contribution too. And those who couldn't come took part in the raffle. But a particular shout out to the girls who took on the refreshments when I was in an utter flap, and made such a fabulous job of keeping the guests full of tea and cake.
Of course it couldn't have happened without the vision, hard work and commitment of Kate and Ollie, who have been working like beavers for weeks to have their garden, paddock, meadow and wood in beautiful condition for visitors. Oxfam owes them a huge "thank you".
It was a lovely day, and I do so appreciate the contribution of everyone who made it happen.

Stella took some pics and I will try to put more up. At the moment, we have:
Our trio of tea ladies! Aline, Jo and Jane in action.
It was great to see Joyce, one of our most valued volunteers, with daughter Jackie.
Ex-Oxfam Support Worker Stella, pinned up bunting, sold raffle tickets and was general trouble shooter. Here she is in the meadow which overflowed with ox-eye daisies.
Corncockles and cornflowers were also flowering.
We really enjoyed the day and loved having friends and visitors enjoying the meadow, pond and wood. We were blessed with a dry afternoon so tea on the lawn worked out well. Liz and Micky did a great job on the stall and car park and organised a fantastic team of volunteers. A colossal amount of work was needed to get the show on the road, both here and at the shop, but we all agree that it was worth it and that we will be doing it again!
