Tad late on the update front from last week - sorry folks !

We had a lovely day , as always 😊

In the morning we had our Amazing Art Man , testing us on our knowledge of Lincoln landmarks ! N creating collages afterwards on this theme - fab 🥰

In the afternoon we also did Roy’s quiz (thanks for that Roy x) and we did a workout too - plenty of singing n a movin n a groovin !

Looking forward to this coming Wednesday now with our lovely Odi - it’s going to be fun folks ! See all there who can make it , and as always our love to those who are absent for whatever reasons - you will be in our thoughts and prayers

I have to end this post on a sad note 🙁- It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Ben , our lovely , always smiley , true gent of a gentlemen , sadly passed away on 2nd October - “very peaceful and settled “ Sarah was with him at the time. Our condolences , love and prayers are with Sarah , and all of the family of Ben 🥲x

Well -what a super day yesterday at our lovely Groups

We played Bingo - what a hoot that was !!! Did some horsey quizzing and also exercise between each round , and then the lovely “Bransby Beth” came to join us to chat and to collect the purple poppies we have been creating for them for their displays this year

She was really chuffed and overwhelmed with our creations - had a lovely talk with us all and stayed for part of the afternoon too - fascinated by the “trains” table !! and after a discussion about Bransby and all they do , joined us with our afternoon “all things equestrian “ quiz - thanks Jess for all the quizzes , puzzles and word searches - you’re a star ###

Thanks to all of you for your amazing purple creations 💜💜- the purple outfits yesterday (n did you notice some of my Pom poms were also purple !!!)

Enjoy and make the most of , these gorgeous “Luke’s little summer” days , and see all who can make it next week

Healing virtual hugs to those in need . All who are absent , for one reason or another , are always in our thoughts and prayers

It was Purple Day at both our fabulous Groups yesterday 💜

Purple poppy making (ready for Bransby Horses visit with Beth next week )

Purple poem reading (the not naughty version !!!) - with biiiig thanks to Ange x
and some of you even unknowingly came (without prior knowledge ) in purple clothing !! Which reminds me …..

For our visit next week to hand over all these wonderful purple poppies - dig out anything you’ve got to wear that is purple !

Thanks to you all for your support in coming each week - your patience when it’s busy , and to all our absolutely wonderful volunteers - who glide around like swans when there’s lots going on like yesterday , and yet are paddling frantically with their tootsies under water to keep it all “happening” - Your fabulous help is never , ever underestimated, or under appreciated ! Another lovely day at our Groups , with our equally lovely Odi 🥰

We did all things Hedgehog yesterday
- making some hanging hogs , learning some facts from Odis interesting info sheets , and hearing a fascinating porcupine tale from her days as a customs officer !!! 😵‍💫, word searching thanks to Jess , a bit of quizzing - who knew there was so much to our prickly little friends ! and - it had to be done - some extracts from the classic Beatrix Potter “Mrs Tiggywinkle “ - that was actually totally new to some of Group members

Oh - and we ate lovely cake !!! B’day ones - With thanks to Linda , and to our wonderful volunteers ###
(Good job exercise week is not far off 🥴🤣😂)
One of these was was a delish homemade lemon drizzle by Hazel to celebrate her birthday - thanks soo much - have a good - if prob difficult one , this year 🥲###( n sorry - not sorry !!- that we didn’t leave you any Guy !!)

Well what a lovely 1st week back we had after the Summer break

In the morning Cherry Chummers had our Amazing Artman Roy doing “his stuff” with us. A super logo quiz , and then some collaging - thanks Roy for the great kick start to the Autumn Term x

We also had 2 huge and amazing cakes from the Marvellous Malcolm - thank you sooo much 🥰- delivered by Phils wonderful neighbours , who enjoyed a cuppa with us after drop off - huge thanks to them (and get well soon thoughts and prayers are sent to you Phil x) cakes thoroughly enjoyed by all , and demolished so quickly I almost missed the pics !!!! In fact did in most cases !!

You’ve prob all seen the birthday song vid ! So not putting on here again ! Thank you all for your cards and wonderful wishes 🥰###

In the afternoon we marked 2 more birthdays , then got started on the purple poppies for Bransby (tbc) - but don’t these look brilliant - fab job team

We then did a True/False facts quiz - that started with a few laughs , n then went on to become downright crying hilarious ! 🤣😂 Laughter is certainly such a good tonic - think we all benefited hugely from that

And so the Autumn will now roll on - let the fun and friendship continue - Looking forward to seeing all you lovely folks again next week 😊😊😊x

Good afternoon all you lovely folks

It’s Wednesday ! The last Wednesday of the Summer break !

Hope you’ve all been enjoying the time off , and the glorious weather to boot

It was fabulous to see all of you who were able to make it to our trippettes over the holiday. Hope you’ve enjoyed the posts about each of the visits

Next week we are back together for the Autumn term, and the countdown to the C word 🥴!!!

Roy will be doing his amazing stuff (maybe with some singing 😂!!) in the morning , and in the afternoon (as promised to Beth when we visited Bransby ) we will be making a start on the purple poppies that they need

If you have anything purple you can bring along (wool , felt , old tee shirts , fabrics, buttons, beads , paper or card ) then feel free to have a declutter and do so ! Along with sewing or knitting or crochet implements ! I have knitting and crochet patterns for anyone who would like - but “the world is our lobster” as a certain TV character once said ! and the poppies can be made in any medium /fashion or style that you are able or would like to do

Cherry Chummers will also be doing these in a couple of weeks time - so you too can get hunting out bits n pieces , if you’d like to !

I am going to ask Beth if she can spare a little time in her hugely hectic schedule , to pop and see us to collect the finished poppies - will let you know if that’s possible when I know

Enjoy your last few days of peace - we will resume our glorious mayhem and madness - with fun and friendship , next Wednesday 🥰

A Beeeeautiful !!! day at Thorne Bees - The Buzz Stop 🐝🐝🐝

A fabulous , and really interesting talk from the lovely Rebecca - the history of her family and Thorne and its development - then the deconstruction of a bee hive and “all things”fascinating and sometimes surprising , about those wonderful little bees - lots of questions and lots of convo , and think we could’ve kept her chatting for hours if it weren’t for the fact that our lunch was ready !!

So roast dinners (and crumble puds in lots of cases ! - or other homemade sweet treats !)

After this , some word searching (thanks Jess ) but we ran out of time for a quiz , as folks had the shop and museum to visit

Another luveerly trippette with you wonderful folks 🥰🥰

Not long now til we are back to our Wednesday shenanigans at Groups !! - so enjoy the next couple of weeks and see all who can make it , on Wednesday 9th September , when we return for the Autumn Term (how did that happen already ?!!)

“Didn’t we have a luverly day the day we went to Bransby “🎶🎶!!

Huge thanks to Beth and her fabulous team , who gave us a brilliant talk about Bransby , its work , and its wonderful 4 legged residents - informative , fun , rather hilarious at times too ! We also had a guided tour of part of the site , and then some visited the rest under their own steam in their own good time

We had delicious coffees, cakes and lunches , and , of course , had to browse the great gift shop and make a purchase or two !

All in all a super time out together

Beth was most impressed by our wonderful Groups - how much fun everyone is, but also , how supportive everyone is of one another - she commented that other staff had also made the same observation and said as much to her - I had to agree , of course ! As you are all exactly that - a fabulous troupe of the best folks - an absolute joy and pleasure to spend time with 😊

Oh - it didn’t take any of staff long to notice the “the one “ (“there’s always one “) in the midst ! Hadn’t even got fully into the building before that was noted 🤣😂need I say more !!

Stay cool this week everyone - it’s going to be a scorcher 🥵

Weather looks like it will be sunny , but not too hot , so that will , hopefully , be perfect ! 😎

Don’t forget :-

* Sun cream
* Sun hats
* Something to cover up if you do tend to feel chilly , or to stop you getting burnt if it is actually hot !
* Comfy footwear for pottering in
* Walking aids if you need or use them
* Any medication you might need (hay fever sufferers , allergy meds, your usual meds that you take during the day , as examples )
* cards /cash for refreshments and purchases from shop !

We will be taken round the site by the lovely staff in 2 Groups , as we are quite a large party , and we will have plenty of time for the cafe , with all its loveliness ! and the shop

The staff are all keen and ready to answer any questions you might have about Bransby , what they do , its history , the lovely horsey residents etc - so feel free to bombard them with your interest and enthusiasm !! I’m sure it’s going to be a super / neigh !!!! fabulous 😂day 🫏🐎🫏🐎
