Lovely to be back together yesterday after half term break

Unfortunately not many pics this week at morn group , as was very occupied supporting various folks - so apologies !

We had a wonderful morning tho , with our Amazing Art Man Roy - all things “Royal” this month ! and his quiz proved that you are all very knowledgable on this subject 😊

We had several birthdays to mark - lots of yummy treats to help with this ! With grateful thanks 🙏and then we finished the morning with our version of “play your cards right “ - one team doing slightly better than t’other !!!

In the afternoon we had “trains in the station” (don’t talk to me about trains ! 2 of mine on my half term break were very delayed ! and one was completely cancelled !!!ugh !) There was also scrabble , and some did some fairy pictures - reproducing the artwork of one of our talented group members in own various styles (thank you for allowing us to do this 🙏🥰) - all absolutely brilliant

Now then - next week is our annual beach trip - this year to Anderby Creek - don’t forget your sun hats and suncream , and maybe wellies n raincoats !!!! In other words , in true British weather style , come prepared for anything and everything !!! Some cash maybe too - just in case

So ….. we ended this half term with a morning playing bingo and doing exercise ! (Little video clip to follow - thanks Jess x) Always a fun time . We had birthdays to mark , and cake to do that with ! Thank you so much , as ever , to lovely Malcolm 😊🥰

In the afternoon we had local author Shirley Ross with us , talking about her life , how she became a writer and published author , and treating us to a reading of a chapter of her lovely children’s book - The Adventures of Derndy The Rollerskate . She also played us a song that has been written by a local musician to accompany the book with a little video track that shows Derndy on the adventures - thank you Shirley - a lovely afternoon , with plenty of reminiscences from your childhood memories that resonated with a lot of Group members 🥰

We are now on half term break - so enjoy the heatwave we are due to have - stay safe , drink plenty of fluids to keep hydrated, dig out , and apply liberally, the suncream , and keep cool 😎

Lovely day at Groups yesterday

2 birthdays in C Chums - and a morning spent playing guess the herb - by touching , smelling and tasting ! Followed by a bit of RHS quizzing (it’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show next week !) and some horticulture word searches - then some creativity with old RHS magazines and look at the wonderful results 🥰

In the afternoon we did some “coffee painting “ with a tree, plant , shrub and bunny ! theme , under the helpful guidance of our lovely Pat - very therapeutic (thank you Pat 🥰) and some wonderful creations 🥰 - we also did RHS quizzing and word games/challenges (thanks , as always , to Jess for the latter , and the morning ones too 🥰) The train station was rather a noisy one this week 🤣making up for the last few quiet ones I reckon !!!

Several of our Group members are going through difficult /challenging /sad times at the moment , and you are all in our thoughts and prayers - we sadly can’t change things , but we are , and always will be , here for you x
