is helping our passionate local changemakers and committed organisations unite in climate action. Residents and organisations in Lincoln are taking part in a nationwide campaign next week to highlight climate action in Lincoln, ‘Lincoln 2030’ our ambitious target for Lincoln to be net zero carbon by 2030 and .

Taking place between 10-17 June, the climate action campaign known as the Great Big Green Week will see thousands of people across the UK organising local festivals and events. The campaign aims to draw attention to climate change, destruction of the natural world, while also making a connection with these issues in communities like Lincoln, at the same time as showcasing actions to tackle climate change.

CALLING LINCOLNSHIRE BAKERS

You have a vital, skilled, creative and powerful role to play in the future of food.

We’re inviting millers and bakers (commercial, micro-, aspiring…) who are interested in exploring questions around the futures of grain and bread in a changing climate, get together with each other and a few farmers who are making thoughtful environmental choices.

We’ve had some great events and conversations, and this is the one for people who are ready to roll up their sleeves, get stuck in and put their hands in the flour!

The deal is that bakers take away some flour to experiment with, and return to a subsequent event with a loaf (or other thing they’ve made) and we get to share it, enjoy it, talk about it, and see what might be possible next…

Our hope is to facilitate connections and opportunities that would lead to the production of a diversity of Lincolnshire loaves, with a deeper understanding by bakers and farmers of the issues and challenges each other face.

Then we get to work together in a way that deepens our connection with food, land, people and place, and start to heal the disconnect between ourselves and our food.

Next Wednesday, 3rd May, 10am-midday at Heckington Windmill

EarthLincs - An invitation to collaborate

We’d (I’d) like to invite you to a meeting to hear our plans.
You may have seen in the national press recently that Extinction Rebellion is planning a mass protest against our government’s lack of action on the climate crisis and failure to protect our environment.

We’re suspending our previous disruptive tactics and organising a peaceful, non-violent mass picketing of Parliament over the weekend of April 21 – 24 in collaboration with lots of other organisations. Here are just some of over 50 groups who are joining us.

The time is right for us to make a stand, in huge numbers, and tell the government that enough is enough. We already have over 20,000 people signed up to join us.
