SUMMER SOCIAL WEDNESDAY AUGUST 12
We had a lovely afternoon on Wednesday. Thanks to everyone for turning up in spite of the very hot weather. We had some very interesting tables including plant and produce, pre-loved items of jewellery and accessories, a tombola and a table with lots of lovely homemade cakes for us to have with our tea. We thank everyone for their generous support and donating items for all the tables. We did make a very tidy profit which will certainly help with the ever increasing cost of demonstrations: fees, flowers and petrol.Thank you for bringing your lovely friends, some have been before and obviously enjoy the afternoon. It was especially lovely to see past members Barbara Mockford and Sally Roberts. We do hope to see them both again soon! We do appreciate your help with setting up and taking down, manning the tables, serving teas and coffees, and taking the lovely tablecloths back to be laundered ready for the next social event at Christmas. We are a great team! Thanks everyone!

Workshop June 3rd with Sue Byrom
Even the rain didn’t stop our workshop, here, outside with an umbrella priming our charity shop vases in preparation for up cycling into a completely different style using textured paint.
We were then shown several leaf manipulation techniques with Rhapsis palm, Aspidestra, bear grass and Phormium, some were easy and some more challenging! We also learnt how to wrap garden stakes with wool, using a drill, to give added texture and height to the planned design.
At the end of an intensive afternoon where we tried our hand at lots of new skills,

everyone took home a beautiful finished arrangement, each one very different from the next.’
