Hi Guys! I did a whatsapp video call with the new volunteers last night and covered a few things. Ive summarised some of the things here and thought they might be a useful reminder for you: I hope you have had a look at the volunteer agreement and returned it. If not I can post that again for the people that have missed out.
I hope it doesn't put you off because whilst there are alot of different aspects to it. The volunteering itself will be straightforward enough. You'll not be expected to do anything too difficult this first year and you will always be paired with someone.
For one Free weekend ticket - You will be required to work 2 x 4 hour shifts over the duration of the festival period(Our definition of FESTIVAL PERIOD is 4pm on the Thursday to 1am on The SUNDAY MORNING)
Volunteering - I'll be putting descriptions of each of the volunteer roles on the whatsapp group over the coming weeks but our main volunteer positions are box office, stewarding, traffic management, wristband check, and litter picking
crew camping: please let me know where you intend to stay when you are onsite. You can camp in general or family camping with your friends if you prefer but if you are bringing a campervan with people that are not volunteering you will still have to buy a campervan ticket and you portion of that ticket will be refunded afterwards. I
One meal per day from our hospitality area. This does cater for vegetarians and vegans.
Car parking. There will be free car parking for volunteers that are driving themselves through gate A but if you are in a car with anyone that is not volunteering and is simply attending the festival you must park in the festival car park at Gate C for regular festival goers.
