Lichfield Refugee Aid We are working in partnership with both national and international Charities to reach refugees in need of aid. The aid will go where it is required the most.

We are a group of local volunteers that have come together to collect aid for refugees. Together with other organisations, we will work in partnership, to ensure essential supplies reach the areas of need, through an organised, appropriate route. This page is to bring the community together to work towards a solution for people in crisis and to keep local people updated. We will not enter into debate surrounding the issues and politics. Admin will remove posts that violate this rule without consultation with the poster. All donations will be sorted by our team of volunteers into specific items requested by organised charities that can deliver to the area of need. Any donation that isn't appropriate, will be sold to raise money towards shipping, if unable to sell, they will be donated to local charities that require them. Please remember we are a group of local people that are trying to make a small difference, alongside other commitments and we can not respond immediately to requests or messages. We will get back to you as soon as possible!

There are so many ways to show up for Refugee Week – hosting an event, joining one, doing a Simple Act, sharing a meal or just showing up for your neighbours. However big or small, it all counts.

This year's theme was Courage, and thousands of you brought it to life across tens of countries – with events, art, food, film and conversations that built connection between communities.

Come along to see a vibrant, music-driven coming-of-age story. Expect big laughs, bold beats and a shocking twist in this unforgettable story of friendship, first love and finding your place in the world told by our young company.

Accessibility: The show is a relaxed performance and contains no trigger warnings or strong language – making it a safe, inspiring and welcoming event for adults, young people and families to enjoy together.
Synopsis: James has an ambition to live in the city and with a very persuasive, but unreliable older brother, Jackie; James finishes his exams, leaves home and moves in with Jackie in London. However, he leaves behind an unexpected but blossoming relationship with his next-door neighbour Stella as well as his childhood best friend, Moses. Then, on the night of his 18th birthday, a shocking revelation from his best friend threatens to shatter everything James thought he knew about love, loyalty and the future.

Yesterday, The Hub at St Mary's hosted an evening for our Lichfield Conversation Club and friends, as part of Refugee Week.

We had Ukrainian craft activities, traditional henna hand decoration, a slideshow of people's photos and videos of around the world, a giant flag of world flags for people to identify.... and lots of lovely food from around the world.

What a joyful evening! In a gorgeous setting!
Thanks to everyone for making this so memorable ❤️
