Lichfield BID is the elected civic organisation representing the business economy and local community of Lichfield City Centre.
Introduced in 2015 the BID has served to promote, support and develop the city. 500 businesses in Lichfield city centre voted throughout July 2015 on proposals to develop a Business Improvement District (BID).. The proposal was accepted and in November 2015 Lichfield was officially ,launched and became the first BID in Staffordshire! The BID now has a manager and social media officer and is now in
year 2 of the 5 year development strategy. There are over 200 BIDs across the UK and they enable businesses to work together and implement the projects and improvements they want. BIDs have been empowering businesses since 2004 when they were passed by legislation. They enable businesses to manage their own trading environment and have amazing success stories across the UK with footfall figures increasing year on year because of BIDs!

In 2015 the business community of Lichfield city centre were proposed a Business Improvement District (BID) to raise the economic value and visitor attraction of the city.
In November 2015 the majority of businesses voted βyesβ in favour, and the organisational body of Lichfield BID was formed, part of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce.
The BID organisation has a structured team consisting of the BID Manager, BID Chairman, Deputy BID Chairman, Project Managers and BID Support Officers. Key stakeholders from the business community form the Lichfield BID Board of Directors, who agree on projects proposed by the BID Manager to improve the city centre. Lichfield BID have a mission statement of five themes to improve the city centre;

An Eventful City: Introducing a variety of festivals and events for our communities
A Safer City: Maintaining a uniformed presence keeping one step ahead of criminals
An Attractive City: Keeping our streets tidy, bright, full of character and heritage
A Productive City: Engaging with businesses to maintain growth and development
