I was going to compose some kind of post to celebrate Sue's Mayday Mile accomplishment - an amazing feat.. But I think this post from her own page says it much more eloquently than I ever could!
" Completed! 🥳 I've power walked each and every day in May. Last night, returning from the theatre, I realised that I was just 1.88 miles (3.02 km) off doing 93 miles – average 3 miles a day. I took on this challenge for a cause I wholeheartedly believe in, and in memory of my dad who was a huge supporter. He always encouraged us to go the extra mile…. So that last walk, finishing just before midnight on 31st was for you dad!! 🐞
No yellow wellies for me, just a range of footwear for the weather and location. I can’t walk in the wellies of our brave volunteer crews, but I’ve done the Mayday Mile Challenge to raise funds to support them. Your very kind donations are very much appreciated and will ensure that our crews can get the training and kit that they need to stay safe while they are saving every life they can at sea. THANK YOU 💜💜💜
If you haven’t donated yet, but would like to support my efforts/RNLI, there’s still time… here’s the link to my fundraising page: https://fundraise.rnli.org/fundraisers/susanmorrow-jones See less
