💚How do arts and craft activities help those living with dementia?
💚A natural mood booster - Engaging in a creative activity can provide a sense of purpose and accomplishment, leading to a boost in mood and self-esteem. It can also serve as a positive distraction from any negative feelings or stress.
💚Improves cognitive function - Creating art and crafts require concentration, problem-solving, and memory recall, all of which can help boost cognitive function. For people with dementia, it can also improve communication and reduce feelings of isolation.
💚Encourages socialisation - Participating in group art and craft sessions can provide opportunities for socialisation and reduce feelings of loneliness. This can be especially important for elderly people who may be at risk of isolation

🎉Happy New Year to our wonderful Memory Cafe Community

💚Our Memory Cafes offer a safe, relaxing place where people can come together in a supporting friendly environment, with others that are in similar circumstances.

💚Every week we offer members different stimulating activities such as painting, singing and dancing to name a few!

💚We also have regular Love To Move sessions using bilaterally asymmetrical movement patterns which are believed to improve cognition.

We look forward to seeing you all in 2026!

🌺 Lest we forget. 🌺

On Remembrance Sunday, we paused to honour the brave men and women who sacrificed so much for our freedom.

At our Lichfield Memory Café, our members came together in a truly meaningful way. Last week, we created a striking silhouette of a soldier, surrounded by hand-made poppies crafted with care and remembrance.

We are incredibly proud that this silhouette has been displayed in Lichfield Cathedral, standing as a powerful symbol of reflection, gratitude, and the enduring promise that we will remember them.
