A huge congratulations to Steven Jamieson on receiving national recognition at the 2026 School Games Impact Awards for the Youth Sport Trust and SailGP Impact League Schools Award
Anyone who knows Steven will know that this award isn't just about delivering sport, it's about creating opportunities for young people who might otherwise struggle to find their place. Through an innovative transition programme combining physical activity, outdoor learning and environmental themes, Steven has helped countless pupils build confidence, develop friendships and feel more positive about the move to secondary school.
What makes this achievement even more special is the focus on supporting children with additional needs and those who can often face barriers to participation. By creating experiences that are fun, inclusive and meaningful, Steven has shown the power that physical activity can have in supporting wellbeing, confidence and belonging.
This national award is thoroughly deserved and is a fantastic reflection of the passion, creativity and commitment Steven brings to his work every day.
We would also like to give a special mention to Hannah and Nathan, who were also nominated for national School Games Impact Awards this year. To be recognised alongside some of the very best School Games Organisers in the country is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the outstanding work they do to support children and young people through sport and physical activity across Lancashire.
While Steven brought home the award, the recognition received by Hannah and Nathan highlights the strength of the School Games network in Lancashire and the dedication of those working every day to create positive experiences and opportunities for young people.
Congratulations to Steven, Hannah and Nathan – Lancashire is incredibly proud of you all. 👏🏆
