Yesterday, I met superstar and young carer, Bailey Kenyon. Bailey was nominated by Barnardo’s Lancashire Young Carers for one of our WOW Awards after an incident when he realised that his little sister, Halle-Paige, seemed to be in distressed. Halle has a condition that means she needs 24 hour care and somehow or other, she'd put something in her mouth and was choking. Bailey was calm and in control, shouted for mum and called the paramedics who came immediately. Halle was made safe and the paramedics said that had Bailey not been so quick, the story could have been totally different.
Even without this incident, Bailey still cares for his sister with love and care and deserves his award.
Well done to Bailey 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Here we are all dressed up in festive glittery outfits at the Mayor of South Ribble Christmas ball. It's a big fundraiser for the Mayor's 4 charities - one of which is us - yippee. 😁😁😁 There was many raffle prizes and some fantastic auction items - not least the PNE chair which went for a mind numbing amount of money.
It was a brilliant evening. Thank you from Miles of Smiles to everyone who came and supported the event.

Christmas has well and truly started as far as we are concerned. Our annual Christmas Bag project is under way. 🎄🎄🎅🎅🎅
Meanwhile, after a request from Soroptimist International Preston for help, we were really delighted to help their project of filling Christmas bags for the children currently living at the domestic violence refuge in Preston. They certainly need a smile in their day.
We are happy to help.
16 pairs of festive pjs purchased, delivered to the Soroptimist meeting and packed into Christmas bags.
