Newborn nappies - worth buying??? 🤔
Yes. And maybe no.
There’s no doubt that newborn sized cloth has a valid place. It’s our most common hire type (mainly to save people from having to buy it, then buy larger stuff).
But is it worth buying for yourself, given we suppose it “only” lasts for a few months? Here are some points to consider:-
1) If you want to buy new for yourself - do that!
2) If you plan to have multiple babies and want to cloth from birth, buying nb then reduces cost per use.
3) While nb modern cloth (aio’s, pockets etc) get outgrown quickly, flats and preflats last MUCH longer - just look at this beautiful nb preflat on my 18mo. Yes, it’s VERY boosted, but it still works!
4) Nb sized flats and prefolds (let’s not forget to show mad love to prefolds!) make excellent boosters in bigger nappies.
Ultimately the choice is down to each parent, but prudent nb cloth purchases do last down the line.
