Join us for Takeaway Thursday this week. Drop in for a cuppa, bring your own containers and a chat. It’s a really good way to meet your community and have your lunch/tea cooked for you. There are always jackets & cheese plus pizza baguettes on the menu. The rest of the menu changes each week as we use whatever produce volunteers have rescued from Monday night onwards. Please bring your own containers & cutlery. It’s pay as you feel, which means you pay what you can.

It may be Volunteer Week but this lot need thanking all year round. Often they’re too busy to stand for photos, most hate it and they all say they don’t volunteer for the praise. They volunteer for planet & people 🌍💚♻️

Huge and heartfelt thank you to Ian, Rob, Ethan, Germaine & Ian, TJ, Nazar, Lucy, Sybil, Viv, Jacq, Sandra, Eileen, Ted, Sue, Carrie, Nicola, Aude, Karen, Nicole, Alex, Bryony, Sarah, Isobel, Nic, Sophie, Nitsa, Geoff, Leah, Yasmin and all the St Chris students (Tora, Theo, Dan, Millie, Jaisie, Felix, Michael Christian & Gabriel) plus Brandles students (Harry & Alfie with Shelley) who have turned up each week to get the work done this year. Amazing all of you! X

We have a new way of recording the food we rescue! Thank you to Lucy & Ian plus a little tweaking from Sophie!
Massive thank you to all the food rescuers at the shop, the Foodbanks, schools and food stalls for giving good homes to all this produce! Thank you to the shop volunteers for all the heavy lifting, smiles, cleaning, smiles, tidying and more smiles. Good work, great job!

Sarah!!! ❤️❤️❤️ has made 100 birthday cupcakes for David Attenborough! We’re giving them out tomorrow afternoon at 4pm to everyone who visits us for his birthday party. Garden City Samba band are playing at 4pm. BUT before that there’s a whole day of festivities. A nature trail around town to find nature in unexpected places, cupcake decoration at Belisily from 8am, make birthday cards at Tutti Frutti from 10am, it’s wild story time at the library at 10.30 -11.30, do some stencilling at Create Community 11.30 - 12.30, if you’re wearing an animal costume, mask or print grab a free babyccino at Vutie Beets, Vintage Vault will be in Best Before Café after 2pm, Auntie Kitty is in Garden Square from 3pm with cupcake decoration and there’s pavement chalk drawing outside Best Before Café from 3pm.

Nitsa, our Mullway food stall volunteer, came into the shop on Tuesday. We were overwhelmed with pastries, everyone on the team was outside trying to give them away. Nitsa took plates & plates of them round town. Fantastic work and massive thank you ❤️

Thank you to everyone at Letchworth & Hitchin Foodbanks. Thank you to all at Northfields, Icknield & Hillshott Infants schools. So much food distributed and into good homes! 🌍💚♻️

Find nature everywhere and in unexpected places! 4th - 8th May there is a trail in Letchworth town centre for everyone to stop, look at & listen to the environment around them. There are 17 spots to contemplate our home, the planet. Old & young can join in.
