Shetland Carers

Shetland Carers Helping carers access info & advice, support & short breaks. We are here to support and empower you!

In the UK there are six and a half million people who are unpaid carers for an ill, frail or disabled family member or friend. Carers help with things like shopping, laundry, cleaning, cooking, filling in forms or managing money. They can also help with personal things like getting someone dressed, turning them in their sleep, helping them to the toilet, helping them move about or administering th

eir medication. If you need support as a carer please contact our office at Market House on 01595 743980

📢 Important update for carers in Shetland

We’re sharing news that the Carers Advice and Information Service will be transferring from Voluntary Action Shetland to the Shetland Care Attendant Scheme (SCAS).

This change means SCAS will now lead on delivering advice, guidance and practical support to unpaid carers across Shetland, as well as coordinating short break grants and respite opportunities.

The aim is to make it easier for carers to access the help they need, with a more joined-up and accessible service going forward.

👉 More updates will be shared soon as the service develops.
