It's Scottish Breastfeeding Week!

We are getting the week off to a beautiful start celebrating breastfeeding in Scotland with the input of some of the amazing families who send us photographs earlier in the year - thank you so much for helping us promote and normalise breastfeeding.

Across Scotland, mums and parents are feeding their babies with pride and helping to normalise breastfeeding for the next generation.

Let’s keep creating a culture where breastfeeding is seen, supported, and celebrated

From those first feeds after birth to home, cafés to parks: breastfeeding is part of everyday life across Scotland and behind every mum is a community that can uplift, support and encourage.

Breastfeeding belongs everywhere, and every mum deserves to feel confident doing it.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) says the only batch affected is the 800g pack coded EXP 31-10-2026 - no other batches are at risk.

Parents are warned to return any of the specific product affected because it is not safe for babies to consume.

❓Have you got a breast pump on loan from Maternity❓

🔺 We only have a limited supply of breast pumps so if you’re no longer using the one you have on loan please can you return it as soon as possible.

🔺 We now have a 12 week loan period on the breast pumps so everyone can have access to a breast pump in the beginning of their newborns life.

🔺 If you’ve had one for more than 12 weeks or have finished using it please return it to the Maternity Department as soon as possible.
