Shobdon Historic Aircraft Club

Shobdon Historic Aircraft Club A group of vintage & classic aircraft enthusiasts based at Shobdon Airfield. Our special babies are 2 x BA Swallows and DeHavilland Moth Minor. Dave Edwards.

Why we do what we do! I have always liked anything old with an engine, especially aeroplanes. It is universally known that pilots haven’t got a clue how they work and are happy to leave that sort of thing to others. Fortunately there are all sorts of people attracted to old aeroplanes, like this lot below, who can be bribed to do all sorts of techno stuff for virtually nothing. All I do is fly the

things and break them, then they mend them. We meet every Saturday for breakfast in the clubhouse, then go and fly if it’s nice or work on the aeroplanes if it isn’t. There is always something to do. Anybody is welcome to join us, you just need to be able to take abuse, drink tea and most importantly-have a sense of humour. Anyway thanks to everybody who helps- Geoff “the Bulldog”Taylor, Angie “PR”Anderson, the two Matt’s and many others.
