The ECHO Weavers and the Spinning Circle have been busy at Leominster Priory this week, taking part in the Vikings at The Priory celebrations. Here is Michelle on Friday with her beautiful handwoven rainbow cushion that she has just completed. Unfortunately, it is not for sale as it was a commission, but I am sure she would be happy to weave another....... We have one more Friday, weaving in The Priory and then we will be back in our Workshop at 19 West Street.
And on Saturday, the Spinning Circle took part in 'The Great Stitch Up'. Here we are, all spinning away! It was lovely to meet so many interesting and interested people - from owners of woolly pigs who want to try spinning their hair, to someone writing a novel about a spinner and asking about some of the lovely traditional terms used in spinning.

ECHO Weavers had their first weaving day in The Priory on Friday, as part of the 'Vikings at The Priory' celebrations that are taking place in and around The Priory Church over the next month. It was blissfully cool, and we enjoyed seeing lots of people and showing them what we make and how to weave on different looms. Here we are, hard at work, next to the Viking longship, coracle and tent. Do come and see us - we are there for the next three Fridays - and all the other lovely Viking and Angle-Saxon themed displays in the Church.

The ECHO Weavers had a very enjoyable day at The Marches Makers Festival on May 2nd and it was lovely to be part of such a creative event. We took three of our table looms so the Weavers were able to demonstrate their weaving skills and also let people have a go at weaving themselves. Our colourful bookmarks and key rings, woven on the simple inkle looms, sold well, as did our lovely textured cushions that we make from recycled felted woollen jumpers and handspun wool.
We will be weaving in Leominster Priory every Friday from 29th May until 19th June as part of the 'Vikings at The Priory'. Do come and see us there, or visit us at our new ECHO Workshop at 19 West Street, Leominster.

The move across the roads took place just before Easter and we are delighted to now have our own designated Weaving Area. Here we are, busy weaving away, on our first week after the move. Just before Christmas, Kevin completed a commission he has been working on for the last 6 months. This was a length of twill weave cloth that he had been asked to weave to re-upholster a customer's chair. This is not an easy weave and he has been working very hard on it since the Summer. We were all delighted with the end result and I think he has done a wonderful job.
