We welcome you to like our page :) The PTA is a charity organisation of parents and staff. Our role is to encourage closer links between home and school. The PTA are best known for fundraising work to raise money for extra resources to further enrich the children’s learning and play. As well as fundraising, the PTA have a useful social function, fundraising events provide an opportunity for parent
s, children and staff to get together and have fun! All parents and carers are automatically part of the PTA. We hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) where a committee is selected to run the PTA. Our committee consists of a Chair, Vice Chair, 2 x Secretaries (including 1 for Leedon Little Learners), Treasurer, Treasurers Assistant, Leedon Staff and over 15 general committee members. Our committee meet every 6-8 weeks, this meeting gives us the opportunity to get together and discuss the projects we want to fundraise for and how we will do it. We raise money mainly through events such as the Summer Fete, Christmas Bazaar, Quiz Nights and School Discos. We also run other events including the tuck shop, school uniform sales and sponsored activities. The PTA committee, including Mr Benson decide how to spend PTA funds. We have recently contributed towards the school minibus, amphitheatre and school benches. We have also funded Year 4 leavers hoodies, playground toys, Christmas party food, the fish tank, books, instruments, sports kit plus much more. Funds raised by the PTA are intended to provide ’extras’ not already provided by the school's main income – often 'fun things' that make learning and play more interesting and exciting. There are many different ways you can help with the PTA, whether you have lots of time to offer or not. Some of the roles are time-consuming, although also rewarding. If you can’t commit to a big job, there are things you can do less frequently (e.g. running a stall at the summer fair, baking for a cake sale, helping at the tuck shop). You can always support PTA events by simply turning up.
