☀️Summer News ☀️

Phew! Not only have things been hot on the weather front but wonderfully Reclaim Life has had a hot time on the fundraising front too! 🙏

With all the generous donations and sponsorships now in we can now announce that the Lavinia's Adventures Road Trip raised £8,000 for Reclaim Life 🎉 It is hopeful that, from the meetings held along the way, a group of interested people in Berwick-upon-Tweed are going to start a Reclaim Life group in their community 🌻 A big thank you to everybody for your support of the road trip, with special thanks going to our largest sponsors Mini Clipper Logistics and APR Engineering ❤️

On the 30th June, Leighton Buzzard Town Mayor, Kevin Pugh, held a charity meal at the Ship Inn, Linslade. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal from the Ship carvery and the evening, including the raffle, raised £800 for Reclaim Life 🎉

Saturday 11th July saw gangsters Paul Harold and Harry Sear in Lavinia, a 100-year-old Talbot car, in the Leighton Buzzard Carnival procession for the third year. Once again, the valiant Helen walked alongside for the whole route shaking a collection tin in the blistering heat 🥵 Lavinia carried Harry’s granddaughter Marley, Big Bear and his sidekick Not So Big Bear, all dressed as gangsters for theme of ‘The Bearsey Malone Gang’. This won Reclaim Life 1st Prize in the open class and our name engraved on a splendid silver salver. We will find out Reclaim Life’s award from the Carnival’s proceeds at the presentation evening.

The following day, Reclaim Life coach Jilly and husband Ian held an afternoon garden tea party in their glorious garden 🌸 The weather was perfect for people to have a relaxing afternoon, enjoying cream teas and cakes and over £600 was raised! Another very generous supporter of Reclaim Life also held a ‘Swish and Fizz’ party; this was certainly another very successful event, raising over £800! 🙏

Fundraising is ongoing at two Bedfordshire gold clubs. Reclaim Life has been chosen by Ian Smith, Seniors Captain of Pavenham Park Golf Club as his charity for the current year and also by Powatti Simper, Lady Captain of Aspley Guide Golf Club 🌻

On a down note, we have to report the very sad news of the death of a very active and loyal Reclaim Life member and life coach, David Hawkins. David was a larger than life person who had such a positive effect on everybody he met. He will be missed so much ❤️
