The artist studio spaces within Creative Spin Studios Leigh are busy working studios where most of the work is done behind closed doors, Creative Shopping Saturday gives you the unique chance to come and meet the artists, learn about their work, enquire about workshops, commissions and buy artwork direct from them. It is also the perfect time to come and explore all the independent businesses within the mill.

Had a busy week last week, so here's a small round up of things happening around the Hackspace!

A few of us went to over the weekend. I (Cat) came back with a new selection of plushies.

Last week we got a new-to-us sewing machine that needed some light repairs. A couple of new screws and some tape and it's back ready to sew whatever projects come its way!

I made some new zip bags for my own use for once! They don't take very long and are great for keeping your bag or pockets sorted.

has brought a sign in for some tlc. It's beautiful and carved with images of insects and leaves.

Rick was sewing together a small mountain of strips for a new dance shirt.

And our tuck shop got a restock with everyone's favourite snacks.

We have: Textile Tuesday 6:30-9pm, General members and code club Wednesday 6:30-9pm, and Saturday our public tours noon-1pm and members until 5pm.

Today in (and out of) the office... A shirt that was just an idea last week is being worn, a mountain of slate coasters have been delivered to a customer, it's Record Store Day at across the hallway, coffee and donut from to start the day...

Textiles Tuesday in the space!

worked on a new shirt. Other members were working on surprise projects, so no photos for a little bit (the progress on it is amazing!).

Fancy learning to make a shirt? Or knit, crochet, hand sewing or embroidery? Tuesday night we have sewing machines, knitting needles, crochet hooks, and a whole host of experienced makers around.

Today in the office - Saturday is a long day in the space. We have a quilt being made that got some personalised embroidery, the Voron needed a clean, the Sidewinders got some new parts and are merrily printing some tests to get them ready for general use, a digitally printed clothes pattern got stuck together and prepped for cutting out, some lasering happened, more 3d printing happened, we had various visitors, and lots of snacks today...

Now I need a sit down... 🫠

Last night was another week of fitting out new equipment and workstations. This week - microscopes. We now have ways to look at all sorts of things up close! This is available next to our electronics bay.

We also had a large pile of stickers brought in to do a sticker exchange for the lolz.

We've had a couple of new members in the last couple of weeks, I'm really looking forward to seeing what they make in the 'Space.

Last night in the office - some functional CNC cutting was a happening.

Sometimes you just need a piece of wood cutting to exactly the space and size you need. Computers can help with that.
