📢 FOOD DONATION APPEAL 📢

We are currently running low on a few essential items and would be very grateful for any donations of:

🥣 Cereals (please note we have plenty of cornflakes at the moment)
🍬 Sugar
🧃 Cordial

These items are always in demand and help us support people across our local community.

If you are able to donate, please drop items off at 19-23 Charles Street or contact us for more information or to request a pickup.

A huge thank you to Wigan and Kat for their incredibly generous donation of tinned food today.

Your support will make a real difference to our community and will help us continue providing meals and essential support to those who need it most. Every tin donated helps us ensure that nobody has to face hunger alone.

We are pleased to announce our 2nd Charity shop on Union Street, will be opening very soon. 😀

The shop on Bradshawgate will be concentrating mainly on food and pets, with our usual cheap and free food available 6 days a week.

The new shop will be for dvds, clothing, furniture, white goods and bric a brac, and will be open same days/times as Bradshawgate. ❤️

We hope you will all pay the new shop a visit soon 😊

We are also looking for donations of furniture again if anyone wants to donate any 👍 all proceeds go to running our free services at Charles Street.

We are proud of how far we have come and remain committed to making a positive difference for those facing homelessness, poverty, and hardship within our community. Thank you for recognising our work and believing in our vision for a stronger and more supportive future for all.

A huge thank you to Dean and dave for their generous donations of pop and tins for our shop! ❤️

Support like this really does make a difference to HSP and the people we help every day. Donations to our shop help us raise vital funds that go directly back into supporting local people and families who are struggling with food poverty, hardship, and crisis situations within our community.

Every item donated helps us continue providing emergency support, food parcels, household essentials, and a friendly place for people who need help.

Today, we would like to share our heartfelt condolences with Les and all the family and friends of Avril, one of our longest and most dedicated supporters.

Avril was a truly lovely and caring lady who supported us month after month with donations of tea bags and essential items. Every Christmas, she would also make a generous cash donation, choosing to help those in need rather than receive gifts herself — a reflection of her selfless and thoughtful nature.

We were saddened to hear of her passing this morning when Les came in, not only to share the news but also to continue Avril’s tradition of kindness by bringing her usual donation.

We recently had the chance to send Avril some flowers when she was unwell, and we are grateful we could show a small token of our appreciation.
HSP will be attending her funeral to pay our respects and say goodbye to a truly wonderful lady.

Rest in peace, Avril. It was an absolute pleasure knowing you. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support — you will be greatly missed 💙

Well done to our shop Manager Christine for receiving this certificate yesterday ❤️

We help the Princes Trust by taking on volunteers and giving them work experience, and we have done this for a few years.

It helps by giving them something to do, learn about Retail and builds their confidence up, so hopefully they can progress into employment.
