📣COMMODORE DAY📣

Our Commodore days are always a huge hit, and the next one will be held at the museum this Saturday - 20th June, 10am-4pm. Whether you want to bring your own equipment to show and share with others, or you want to look at other peoples' collections and chat all things Commodore - this is the place for you!

You can book a (free) table to show off your equipment by e-mailing [email protected]

The museum, cafe and iCafe will also be open all day as usual, so if you've not been before it will be a great day to pop in and explore!

How is it Monday already!?

That can only mean one thing though - a Leigh Spinners Mill shoutout!

Today's shoutout goes to the amazingly talented Carla from Curtains by Carla . She creates beautiful made to measure curtains and blinds and her talents just astound us! Carla is also running some sewing classes which sound absolutely amazing, but spaces are limited so book soon if you are interested.

The museum, cafe and cyber cafe are open Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm so why not pop in for a brew, grab some lunch, have a chat, relive your youth and maybe even show your own kids/grandkids how gaming was done back in the day!

UPCOMING EVENTS

We are running a few events over the next few weeks and would love for you to visit us! If you can't make the events a share to spread the word would be very appreciated

🕹Our very popular Commodore Day is on Saturday 20th June 10am-4pm

👨Fathers Day Sunday 21st June 10am-4pm including a free hot drink for every dad coming into the main museum!

📚Our very own Joe Kay's book signing on Sunday 28th June 10am-4pm

👾Social & Play evenings (for adults) starting Friday 10th July 7pm-10pm (and then the second and last Friday of every month following)

💰Museum entry is just £8 adults, £5 children and concessions with family tickets available. Our Cafe and iCafe are always free entry

Volunteer Spotlight - Michael

If you have ever visited the museum, the chances are that you have benefited from Michael's behind-the-scenes work without even realising it! Michael is the person behind many of the digital experiences you will find around the museum. He developed our website, created Kelly our AI museum assistant and built the very popular AI photobooth where visitors can see themselves transformed (see photo - sorry Michael!) along with many, many more projects

He's constantly working behind the scenes on new projects including mixed reality experiences, improvements to our booking systems and helping us make the museum even more interactive and accessible for all.

Of course, Michael isn't just found behind a computer screen - like all of our amazing volunteers he is always happy to jump in wherever needed and is a very familiar face around the museum, helping keep everything running smoothly.

We are incredibly lucky to have such a talented and dedicated volunteer as a part of our team and we are very grateful for everything he does here.

Thank you Michael - we appreciate you so much!
