Some people come into your life and leave a lasting impression. Others come into your life, take you under their wing, and remind you that the brotherhood we found in the Armed Forces never truly leaves us.

Dave “Dutch” Holland is one of those men. 🇬🇧
When I first started my job at Manchester Airport, I was finding my feet in a new environment. But there was one bloke who made sure I wasn't finding my way alone.

Dave took me under his wing, looked out for me, offered his friendship and made me feel part of the family.

And the thing about Dutch is, I'm not the only veteran he's done that for.

This absolute legend has spent years looking out for his fellow brothers and sisters from the Armed Forces, offering friendship, encouragement, guidance and support whenever it's needed.

No fuss. No recognition needed. Just a genuine bloke with a massive heart who understands what looking after your own really means. 🫡

Dave has been an important link in bringing veterans together across Manchester Airport, helping people stay connected and reminding those who once wore the uniform that they are still part of something special.

Because when you leave the Armed Forces, you might hand your kit back, take off your uniform and start a completely different chapter in life.
But there's one thing you should never have to leave behind.

THE BROTHERHOOD. THE SISTERHOOD. THE MILITARY FAMILY. ❤️

They say the Army gives you memories that last a lifetime, but one of the greatest things it gives you is brothers who remain brothers long after the uniform comes off.

Another day at work, and who do I bump into? None other than this absolute legend, Tony Curtis — a fellow Queen's Lancashire Regiment (QLR) brother in arms! 🦁🇬🇧

What a fantastic feeling it is to bump into one of your old Army brothers. It doesn't matter how many years have passed or where life has taken you. That connection, that loyalty and that military bond never disappear.

One minute you're getting on with your working day, and the next you're standing there with a brother who reminds you of where it all began.

What a day at work! Going about my normal day, and who do I bump into? None other than this absolute legend, Chris Walton!

A familiar face, a handshake, a laugh and suddenly you're reminded of the days when you stood shoulder to shoulder wearing the same cap badge.

What can I say about Chris?

For many of us, leaving the Armed Forces meant leaving behind more than just a uniform.

🫡 CAN ANYONE HELP A BROTHER OUT? 🥾

We're putting a little shout-out to our fantastic veteran community, friends and supporters.

Our fellow Director and good friend Steve Ralph Steve Ralph is looking to borrow a pair of bulled military parade boots for our Regimental Dinner Night on Monday 12th October.

The boots will be used for a very special Empty Place Setting — a respectful tribute to remember our fallen brothers and sisters who are no longer with us. 🕯️❤️

They may no longer be standing beside us, but they will never be forgotten.

We know there's a good chance that one of our military brothers or sisters has a pair of highly polished parade boots tucked away somewhere!

Some friendships are made in life. Others are forged through military service, shared hardships, and standing shoulder to shoulder when it matters most.
Danny Shilton is one of those brothers I'll never forget.
What can I say about this absolute legend?

Me and Danny go way back. From our days serving in the Queen's Lancashire Regiment and the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment to serving together in Afghanistan, we've shared experiences, memories and moments that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. 🇬🇧
We've had the laughs, the banter, the difficult days and the times when all you had was the bloke standing beside you.
And Danny was always one of those blokes you could count on.

A true Lion. A family man. A loyal friend. And, above all, a brother who will always have a veteran's back. 🦁
There's something about serving alongside someone in Afghanistan that creates a bond you simply cannot explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it.
You don't just remember the places you served.
You remember the lads who stood beside you.
The ones who made you laugh when things were tough.

The ones who looked out for you.
The ones you trusted.
And the ones who, no matter how many years pass, will always be your brothers.

Danny, you're one of those lads, mate.

The Army gave us many things, but one of the greatest gifts was the brotherhood we carried home.

At The Leigh FOB CIC, we have always believed that supporting our veterans is bigger than any one organisation, any one group or any one individual.
It's about standing together, supporting one another and making sure that no veteran ever feels forgotten or left behind.

That is why we are proud to show our support for the upcoming Veterans Afternoon Tea, taking place on Friday 6th November at Leigh Miners Welfare Institute.

🫡 Lee-Michael Pybus LEE-MICHAEL PYBUS — A TRUE LION. A BROTHER IN ARMS. A FRIEND FOR LIFE.

Some people come into your life through military service and leave a mark that never fades.
Lee-Michael Pybus is one of those men.

I've had the honour and privilege of serving alongside this absolute legend in the LANCS, and I can tell you something about Lee — he's the kind of bloke you would want standing beside you when things get tough.

A true Lion. A family man. A loyal friend. And, above all, a man who has always put others before himself.
Lee is the sort of brother who will always have a veteran's back. Not because he wants recognition or praise, but because that's simply the man he is.

The Army teaches you many things, but one of the greatest gifts it gives you is the brotherhood you carry long after the uniform comes off.

Different paths. Different chapters. But the same unbreakable bond.
