The Baby Room at Spinners CIC We have been supporting families across Wigan Borough since 2022. The Baby Room at Spinners CIC will be opening soon! We are grateful for all donations.

We support families with babies 0-36 months (up to 5 years in some instances) with essential equipment, including a safe space to sleep, and a tool for communication. We are a non-profit organisation providing a baby bank of essential items, and fun, educational baby signing classes for families across Wigan and Leigh. We will be accepting referrals for the baby bank through local midwives, health

visitors, and other professional agencies/groups and charitable organisations. We will not accept self-referrals, so please speak to your health professional if you would like to receive support. There is no set criteria to receive support. We can help any family who is struggling to provide the everyday essentials for their new baby. Our Moses Basket Starter Pack provides a safe bed to sleep in and is packed full of toiletries, nappies, wipes, maternity pads etc., as well as clothing (0-3 months), bedding and towels. For some families, these are the only items they have for their baby. The Baby Room believes that every child should have the best start in life, and a safe space to sleep. Financial donations are very welcome as they help us to provide brand-new mattresses, some essential baby items, and contribute towards the running costs of the service. Baby signing is an excellent way to communicate "two-way" with your baby. Signing helps to ease frustration and tension. Signing babies have been shown to go on to speak earlier, have wider vocabularies and even higher IQ's than non-signing babies in general! Within our classes, we play games, make music, sing songs and use rhymes to practise our new signs. Dexter, our large signing puppet, helps us to learn and play.
