💙 Looking back at a project we're still incredibly proud of...
One of the Leigh-on-Sea Partnership's key aims has always been to make it easier for people to discover everything our town has to offer – not just the Broadway and Old Leigh, but every independent shopping street and hidden gem that makes Leigh so special.
Working in partnership with local independent businesses, Leigh on Sea Town Council, Southend-on-Sea City Council and artist Playing with Pens (Joanne Holbrook), we created our illustrated wayfinding map and installed information boards and fingerposts across the town. The project helped residents and visitors alike explore more of Leigh-on-Sea, encouraging them to wander a little further, discover somewhere new and support our fantastic independent businesses.
The project was made possible through funding secured by the Partnership to create a lasting feature for our town.
Years later, those maps are still helping people navigate Leigh-on-Sea and reminding us what can be achieved when businesses, community organisations and partners work together with a shared vision.
We're proud of what was accomplished then—and excited about what we can achieve together in the future.
