Congratulations to local filmmaker Jacob Bee, who was named winner of the Short PLATFORM Professional Development Award at Phoenix Leicester last month, which we proudly sponsored with a ยฃ250 prize fund! ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ—ฃ Jacob said: โ€œIโ€™m really grateful to have been chosen for the Professional Development Award. It means a lot to know that people see potential in me as a filmmaker and believe Iโ€™m someone worth investing in. Itโ€™s definitely given me more confidence in myself and encouraged me to keep creating films and developing my skills.โ€

And here is how Jacob plans to use the ยฃ250 prize fund on future projects:

โ€œI plan on putting the ยฃ250 award towards purchasing a Panasonic LUMIX S5II camera and a couple of lenses. Iโ€™ve been using my Canon G7 X Mark II for several years, and this upgrade will give me greater creative and technical control for my short films, documentaries and videography work.โ€
